Could see this one coming a while ago: horrible on the road, sub-.500 record in a weak division, and a negative run diff. Maybe next year.

You are so right, baseball is the streakiest game of all sports and I think the Phillies have 6 or 7 games left with the Braves which means as you said they have put themselves in the race and I've seen some weird things happen in MLB in late September during my lifetime.

I think they have a better chance at winning their division than getting a wild card spot. Those games against the Braves are huge for the Phillies.

I agree! Just think, if the Cardinals played in the NL East or the NL West they would be in 1st place right now but since we play in the NL Central we have both the Cubs and Brewers to deal with.

Our last 3 games of the regular season at Wrigley Field might put more gray hairs on my head.

You could be right but it appears that both the Braves and Phillies are sucking right now and the Braves begin a tough west coast road trip tonight at the D-Backs. So I guess we will have to wait a little longer to find out who sucks the most.

I mention this only because I've seen far too many teams in sports take an opponent they should beat lightly at just the wrong time.

That would be tough. Especially after the bottom of the 9th last night.
My crystal ball is telling me that the last series of the regular season against the Cubs is going to decide if we get a wildcard spot. The Cubs will have the opportunity to knock us out of the playoffs.
