This race is nuts.

Brew Crew are currently lead the WC race as they're a half game up on Philly, Colorado, and St. Louis.

Dodgers are 2.5 back

Also should be noted that none of the current division leaders are safe.

Braves lead the Phillies by a game, Cubs lead Brewers by 3 games, and D-Backs lead Rockies by .5 game.

Meanwhile, the AL is essentially down to 6 teams and two division races are pretty much done barring major collapses.

Phillies close the season out with an 8 game trip to Atlanta and Colorado and then come home to play the Braves. They also have 9 games against the Nats and a 3 game set with the Cubs.

Braves still have a 7 game west coast trip (4 @ ARI, 3 @ SFG) and series against the Red Sox, Cardinals and Rays.

Cubs have a pretty tough road trip coming up at the end of August (1 @ ATL, 3 @ PHI, 3 @ MIL, 4 @ WAS). They also have another series with the D-Backs, Brewers and Cards.

The Astros and Cubs missing the postseason would be something

Big thing with the Cardinals is whether Carpenter and Molina hold up down the stretch. If they do then I like our chances over the Brew Crew. Catching the Cubs would probably signal that the Cardinals are actually really good and not just 'hot' at the moment.

Dodgers run differential is too high and I think they're too talented to miss the playoffs. I think the Cardinals will be the other wild card.

They haven't exactly dominated the Mets and Marlins this season, either.

I say Philly is out; at the most they make the WC as the road team, and they're awful on the road.

Probably Dodgers/Brewers but would love for Colorado to make it instead of LA

Didn't realize how well they have played in-division...you may be right, that they'll pass the Brewers. 8-7 vs Milwaukee, with 3 left at Busch

I think a different, but equally important, question is: which WC team will ass-blast the Braves in the Divisional round?

And win the World Series. Cardinals Devil Magic strikes again.
Giants aren't in the mix. We just need someone to knock off the Red Sox and maybe we can see some magic.

Cardinals are playing with house money right now, though. They're basically a rebuilding team at the moment. Its hard to imagine them getting past teams like the Cubs and Dodgers.
