Money spent equals success according to this half-wit. Who really cares if he gutted the farm system and treated the roster as if it was a fantasy team instead of an actual franchise.

Sure, let's take on Justin Upton, Matt Kemp, and Will Myers even though NONE of them can play CF...sure worth taking on a quarter of a billion in remaining salary so we can "show the fans".

But that is what flicks Monta's bean so....
Upton and your choice of Lester, Price, Cueto or Hamels would have got it done.

Unfortunately, this seems to be true...they just don't have the healthy horses to make a run of it. Next year, I expect them to re-sign Leake and sign at least 1 prominent pitcher to solidify the top half of the rotation much like they went after Lester.
LOL! You are go gullible; God love ya.

The Giants elimination number is down to 19 and you know the D'Backs would love to play spoiler.

Hey when all you got as a sports fan is rooting for the winners to fall short, you root for a sad team.

Yeah, I'm a real big fan. If you are, I highly recommend his autobiography he wrote not long before his death. Quite a guy he is! Far from the typical Hollywood celebrity. He never made a single enemy his entire career, was universally loved and despite being one of the very hottest acts in town for awhile, he fell in love with a humble woman who had a crippled daughter and stayed true to her til his death. I could go on and on! Really admire the guy.

I'll root for the Giants to fall short my whole life. My favorite team is completely irrelevant to that and despite the fact that it tears you up (for some odd reason) I don't owe you an explanation or apology. But thanks anyway! :thumb:

Just saw the score. LOL @ the Giants. :L

Magic Number for the Boys in Blue is 18.

At this rate the Dodgers won't have to win many more games.

I'm a fan as well. My mon and him both went to Hollwood High in L.A. and my mother dated him in high school. She always made sure her friends knew it too. She said he left L.A. in the middle of high school and went back to the midwest somewhere and the next time she heard about him he was Bret Maverick.

When I was young she was absolutely in love with him and couldn't get enough of the Rockford Files. I'm told he was a very down to earth guy who was kind to everyone. I thought he was excellent in The Notebook and was generally an under-rated actor.

Tears me up? Oh man, right now being a Giants fan is literally fandom nirvana. How would a bitter fan of another team affect the joy I feel with my team winning 3 of the last 5 (well soon to be last 6) championships? Seriously, the Giants are pretty troll-proof right now. You think Patriots fans care if some Bills fan rags on them?

We should enjoy it now because it is over. The pitching is an absolute disaster, both the starters and the pen, and the front office will not sign anyone of significance. They'll live off of those three titles as long as the fans will tolerate it. We had a good run and some extremely good fortune in each of our Series runs but its over.

Or they could wait for Ryu to get healthy. Either way, the Dodgers lack the lineup and bullpen the Giants do, so they will need more then 1 starting pitcher.
If Ryu comes back healthy and the Dodgers get another starting pitcher, they would be set with 4/5 starting pitchers. Now their bullpen is another story.

I'd say Brett Anderson was a pretty successful signing. I would have been ecstatic if you had told me he'd pitch more innings this year than he did from 2012-14. Not only that, but he's been pretty solid (3.36 ERA, 3.56 xFIP; also sports a ground ball rate of 66.7%, highest among SP; Keuchel is 2nd at 62.2%). Hard to believe he's only 27 years old too. It felt like he made his MLB debut eons ago.

The thing is, and this is a simple fact, you don't know shit about baseball. You just don't. I'm sure you're good at something, but this ain't it. So no matter what you type....that the Giants will fall short, that they will win it all again....whatever pixels you give us, they mean nothing, they are not at all correlated with anything that might or might not happen. You've proven it so in easily bumped posts.

So in summation, your opinion on the sport is without meaning or import. Bye now.

I loved that signing from the get-go. For a team with unlimited funds, he was zero risk (obviously, Ryu and McCarthy hadn't been lost for the season yet). The question was never his abilities on the mound. It was only "will he be healthy?"
