Hopefully he can make a serious run at 3000 hits, though I don't think he's a HOFer regardless.
I kinda doubt he gets too close. It’s gonna be a while before he’s with the team, and when he gets here, he won’t be an everyday player in a crowded outfield. His wrist injury last season and Covid have really hurt his chances

Yeah, he's not really someone you want to play every day either. He's good at getting on base, but he has minimal power and he's been struggling with lefties.

it's a shame his bat kinda stagnated after 2008, he looked like he was going to be a superstar.

If he were to get 3000, which he won’t, but if he were to, it’d be automatic entry, as Markakis ain’t a juicer.

I have to think he had a bit of an altercation with Snit. He's always been a bit of a headcase. His velocity is down significantly. 92 was the fastest I saw last night, and he could touch 100 last year. Also he looks sickly skinny, so he's either strung out on something or he has a health issue.

He's worth taking a flyer on. Two years ago, he was in the Cy Young discussion(not a serious threat to win, but in the discussion), and he had a really strong second half of last season.

Mike Foltynewicz Clears Waivers, Sent Outright To Braves' Alternate Training Site

Not surprised he cleared due to what he is owed.

only the pirates worry about 2 mil :suds:
Oh yeah the Pirates are cheap but was more thinking after this year, he contract is 6.4 mil/yr. Doubt any team will want that head case with a sudden drop in velocity for any price.

Correct it was lowered this year but no one was going to pick him up for this year, it would have been for the future. He must have major issues if no team was going to take something around 6.4 million for him.

Going from touching 100 to topping out at 92 is a huge red flag, especially with him looking like the crypt keeper. Sucks, because with Soroka out, having Folty at his best would sure help things out.

Man, the Mets have a knack for getting lit up by former position players (Cabrera has 2 doubles and 2 home runs tonight)...

Shouldn’t this be in the LOL at the Mets thread.
