You are telling a GIANTS FAN to “google Juan Marichel and John Roseboro”? Seriously?

And you are bringing up examples from pre-FA to show that players would go to the mattresses to prevent their rivals from going to the playoffs? In eras where there wasn’t ever playoffs to begin with? Players today (for the most part) don’t have the same ties to their team that they had back in the 60s and 70s.

And for the ‘04 ALCS, that was IN THE PLAYOFFS. Totally and completely different situation. The ‘21 NLDS (record wise, the GREATEST Post Season Series EVER, btw) was dramatic as hell. The dodgers left all their emotion on the field to the point where they didn’t have anything left in the tank to take on the Braves.
The 2021 NLDS? What made it so great, the 9-2 Game 2 or the 7-2 Game 4? not saying the '04 ALCS was the best ever but you had the so-called Curse and the '03 ALCS hanging over everything

The 1980 NLCS was better, four of the five games into extras. The 1986 NLCS, with Game 4 going 12 innings and Game 6 going 16 andthe indestructible Mike Scott looming for game 7. The 1995 ALDS and Edgar Martinez and "The Double"

The 2021 NLDS had the best COMBINED RECORD for the two teams ever. I never claimed the series was epic in any way. But both teams were 120% all in. Many Dodger players even said as much after they were eliminated by the Braves (that they didn’t have anything left after the Giants series).
