Obviously something that was expected. Going to be interesting to see where he lands and the type of deal he gets. The guy has talent so somebody will get him but will most likely ride the bench as a veteran depth guy and then maybe compete next year,.

Why now this close to camp? If one of their remaining QBs go down to injury during camp or preseason they may live to regret this decision.

Shows respect to the player for them to actually get a shot to find a place he could maybe start. Definitely taking a chance as the team but at the same time looks good to players that they respect players like this.

Denver should snag him. Sanchez would be a pretty reliable backup.

I honestly go back and forth on this. The 3 guys we have I want them to get as many reps as possible to get them up to speed and let them compete. When you throw in a 4th arm it could take away some of the reps to build those connections with the OL, RB, and WR's. At the same time Foles has shown some success in this league and honestly other than being behind in the playbook would stand a decent chance of starting. Probably leaning though to not having him join the Broncos. Have to ride with who we have and be ok with that.

True but if they had cut him back in June it would've given him more time to find a team before camps start.

True but they could have been waiting to make sure Goff is who they thought he was and didn't need a year before he could start.

Chip Kelly will bring him to SF, he ran Chips offense better than Bradford did.

Can't blame them if that's the case.

To me seemed like Kelly couldn't get Foles out of Philly quickly enough though. While Foles definitely ran it better I don't think Kelly ever really wanted Foles to be his guy.

Why would the Rams want to keep a QB who was not going to be happy heading into camp? They drafted a guy who they think is the future, so they cut their losses and avoid the preseason distractions that would have popped up if Foles was on the roster. Smart move for the Rams.

No confidence in Foles staying healthy running an offense like that.

Well his system while it can be explosive is also one that does lead to QB's taking extra hits. Heck we saw last year the controversy when a guy hit Bradford after he handed off the football on an option play. So his QB better be ready to take those kind of hits. So far he hasn't exactly had QB's known for standing up to such a beating. I mean Bradford, Foles, and now maybe Kaepernick who have all had some serious injuries. He needs a Cam Newton type in my opinion to stand up to such a season but even there you are going to shorten a players career. It is why I don't think his system works well in the NFL. You just can't have your most important player being put into those kind of situations on a weekly basis.

Oh my bad. Still keep saying somebody needs to create a sarcasm font so we can always know when someone is being serious and when they are trying to be funny. Hard to tell with some on this board.

Case Keenum and Sean Mannion should both be ahead of Foles on a depth chart. Not that Mannion has proved anything but I think any team would rather take a chance on a young guy than a known loser.
