Meh. Somehow Pittsburgh will still somehow still get McDavid.

I'm not a big fan of the lottery at all.

Anything that the NHL shares with NBA is a no for me.

Obviously getting the #1 pick next year is going to be huge for some team, but I would be just as happy to see a team like the Isles or the Blues get it if the Sabres don't.

I can't see STL even being in contention.

Watching the Isles name get drawn sure would be sweet though. If Buffalo finishes dead last again, that would be #1 and #2 overall.

I might kill Garth Snow if that happened.

Adding McDavid AND Eichel to the young talent the Sabres already have (Reinhart, Grigorenko, Ristolainen, Girgensons, Zadorov, Armia, etc.) would be sickening from a division rival's point of view.

I honestly expect the Isles to make the playoffs. I know it sounds nuts, but this is the deepest roster the Isles have had in some time. I don't expect huge numbers from Grabovski or Kuliemen either. What I expect is solid goaltending from Halak & Johnson, something they haven't had in quite some time. This is the first time I have no idea how the Isles forward lines are going to shake out. They potentially have 6 centers. Which means at least 1 of Brock Nelson & Ryan Strome could move to wing. Nelson could possibly play with Tavares & Okposo on the 1st line. Strome could play with Frans Nielsen & Colin McDonald on the 2nd line. A healthy McDonald would be a big boost to the offense. He missed most of the season last year.

Defensively they'll be better due to the addition of Griffen Reinhart & a full season from Calvin De Haan. They might have to trade a defenseman or two to make room. Depth isn't a problem that's for sure.

We'll see, but I wouldn't get your hopes up to much about the Isles finishing in the bottom 5 this season. It's not likely to happen. They're to much talent on their roster.

I tend to think so too. But this IS the Isles. Things have a way of going badly for them lately, so I'm not ruling it out.

Do the Isles have more than one Colin McDonald?? Because the only one I know of played 70 games last year and recorded only 18 points. :noidea:

If Colin McDonald is playing on their second line there's a problem

It would seem like a weird choice for sure. I was honestly curious if DBI was talking about the same Colin McDonald. It just didn't seem to add up.
