How would the matchups work? So the 6th and 7th seed will play to determine who is the ultimate 6th seed or something? Seems stupid.
Meh, we can bitch if we want but the owners are hell bent on adding games that matter so I would rather see this than a 17 game schedule. I think most of the players will agree to the trade off if it is indeed an either/or type of thing. Of course, now you have that 7 seed getting the 2 seed and often that 2 has to battle to the end of the season and needs the rest. Could possibly see some more upsets in the making.
Looking back to this past season, I think I would have enjoyed a Steelers/Chiefs match-up and a Rams/Saints rematch. I don't think it's worth anyone getting their panties in a bunch over if it does happen.
rumor is, there is no objections, and they had this planned prior. That its a lockThis is just being proposed in the new cba. It hasn't been approved
more games, more money,The NFL has the best playoffs and they want to change it and make it more predicable and lower the quality of competition? Dumb
more games, more money,
Guaranteed contracts, expanded rosters and lifetime health insurance, or strike. This is part of the proposed new CBA which will also include a 17 game schedule. Right now, the word seems to be the player's union will agree to it (their revenue share will go from 47 to 48.5%).
Honestly...the players are dumb if they take this deal. The NFLPA has always had the weakest of all the sports unions so it wouldn't surprise me if they just blindly fall in line but they shouldn't. Right now is the prime time to push for more. The 1.5% increase is not enough. They should push harder for fully guaranteed contracts (or at the very least, more substantial guarantees), more health benefits post-playing career as well as pension increases (remember, a lot of rank and file players don't make huge money and only play a couple of years), and a variety of other stuff. The NFL wants these extra games for when the TV contracts get renegotiated soon. They are more likely to be amendable to some changes now knowing they'll get a huge windfall from the new contracts down the road with the extra games. The NFLPA would be a bunch of suckers if they did this for just a 1.5% increase in total revenue
Guaranteed contracts, expanded rosters and lifetime health insurance, or strike.
It's a sham of a Union though, they'll take the tiny bump.
Stupid, why are they fucking with shit that isn't broken. Fix the broken shit.
We'll see with the new CBA. we'll see. If I was a player and you are adding another game to our season I want more money on my current contract.rumor is, there is no objections, and they had this planned prior. That its a lock
well based on all the reports on how fast this CBA is moving, and how they expect to wrap it up soon. The NFLPA must be getting what it wants. Because they were telling players to prepare for a lockout. So it cant be going poorlyWe'll see with the new CBA. we'll see. If I was a player and you are adding another game to our season I want more money on my current contract.
