I absolutely hate Mahomes' statement that "let the players decide the game" take...it's old, tired, and 100% factually incorrect.WAAAAAAAA!!! WAAAAAAAA!!! WAAAAAAAAA!!
Refs finally make the right call in the Chiefs game and now everyone is crying the refs suck because they should not call that type of penalty in crucial situations.
Are these people fucking serious???? A lot of teams who are not privileged get penalties called that were clearly not penalties and it costs them the game. These pussies are crying about a legit penalty called.
Look, the player(s) DID decide the game. YOUR Wide-Receiver lined up OFF-SIDES. Whether a little bit, or a lot, he was OFF-SIDES. The Ref did his job by calling the penalty. That's his job. The WR's job is to line up ON Side. Who "decided" the game with this? The Ref who succeeded at doing his job, or the WR who failed to line up on-sides?
Not only that, but no one has a clue how the rest of the play is playing out. The Ref throws the flag at the snap when the infraction occurred. It's not like the play happened, a great lateral scores a TD and then the Ref went "You know what...that WR was off-sides, I'm going to throw a flag now". That's not what happened. Ref saw the infraction - threw the flag. The rest of the play happened independent of that call.
I hate the "changed the game" take. The player DID decide the game. Just because you don't like what your WR did...doesn't mean that it's the refs fault for doing his job.
KC's real problem is that they don't have a WR worth a damn. They have Kelce and a bunch of sub-level guys and back end of the roster guys.
