Buddy, I literally posted what a TERRIBLE precedent it'd be to NOT give Purdy the MVP. Some others have done the "would your team be better off with Purdy or X QB" bit.Context was talking MVP. And specifically in the post you were replying to, was in regards to MVP.u
If I wanted to say that, I would have said that.Buddy, I literally posted what a TERRIBLE precedent it'd be to NOT give Purdy the MVP.
You're just looking for a fight, lmao.
If you want to say Purdy is better than Josh Allen unironically, knock yourself out.
Then you are adrift at sea picking a fight with someone who agrees with you. You're just too dense to realize it.If I wanted to say that, I would have said that.
I mean, at some point his production/efficiency does in fact matter, right? Yeah it's not gonna be 50 TD's or even 40 TD's, but nobody is really blowing the doors off this year in the volume department. Unless you want to argue for Tyreek Hill or someone like that, it kind of has to be Purdy at this point.Purdy has a better head coach, All Pro LT, All Pro RB, All Pro TE, better number one WR.
Lamar is impressed
Brees is the right comp. Hell of a good career, Purdy would die for it...plausibly could be, also plausibly not, be fun to watch it unfoldBrady is fucking John Elway in terms of arm strength compared to Purdy. Please be serious. If you want to force a mediocre toolset that's good anyway, go for Brees.

I think this stuff is overblown. It’s about winning and it’s about real performance on the field. I don’t care if people say he’s not a top 10 QB. He’s performed no worse than as a top 3 QB in the league this year. As long as he remains with this coach, and they continue this development he’s going to have a career where he is considered one of the best of his generation. People underestimate the situations QBs get put into. Purdy shouldn’t have to apologize for having weapons and a great offensive scheme and approach.Incorrect. I've implied he's gonna win MVP regardless of what anyone thinks. You're being a sensitive homer. I said he wouldn't be in most people's top 5 QB's, moreorless. That's different from an MVP convo.
It’s not crazy to say that Purdy has out performed Mahomes this year. That’s what this stuff is all about. The two things that I feel people vastly overlook when it comes to Purdy is one the mental aspect and the other is tied to it and that is his efficiency.
I posted in the Purdy thread but Purdy has 384 attempts on the year which is the fewest attempts by any of the QBs that have played an equal amount of games. Yet he leads the league in TDs, 2nd in yards, and has a 9.9 yard per attempt which means he's basically throwing a 1st down every time he throws the ball. Compare that to Mahomes who I only bring up because he's 2nd only to Howell in attempts and Mahomes has 524 attempts. So Mahomes is +140 which works out to be about 4 to 5 games worth of attempts and Purdy still beats him in yards and TDs.
Now I'm not making the argument that Purdy is better than Mahomes but I am making the argument that despite him being in the best overall situation a QB can be right now he is maximizing that situation to about its fullest.
It's one of those things that I think he's so efficient and makes things look so routine you don't appreciate it unless you're some nerdy 9er fan that watches people break down All-22 film on YouTube
If Purdy was really that good they'd throw more on purpose. It's all McCaffrey. The two things that I feel people vastly overlook when it comes to Purdy is one the mental aspect and the other is tied to it and that is his efficiency.

I don’t think that’s true. Everything Shanahan is built off of run action and they’re committed to run the ball. Purdy’s pass attempts isn’t down because they’re hiding Purdy or avoiding putting the game in his hands. His attempts are lower because they’ve been boat racing people and you become even more run heavy when you’re up 2 TDs in a contest. If Purdy was really that good they'd throw more on purpose. It's all McCaffrey.
That was also true for Russell Wilson when the Seahawks were at their peak. Wilson had a great year but he didn't get an MVP vote. I think MVP will be a non-QB this year.I don’t think that’s true. I think marginally better. QBs in reality only account for 1 or 2 more wins at best the majority of the time. I think the Hawks would likely have beaten the Bengals with Purdy. Geno made some bonehead plays in that one but Pete also completely fucked up so who knows right. The game at the Rams last month is another one that maybe Purdy makes a few more plays than Geno but we still could have won that one but Myers missed the FG. Shit happens kinda thing.Altho I agree,I still think the Seahawks would be no better than their record is now.
I understand why the award has shifted to be so QB centric. At the same time, 2023 is the perfect season to divert from the trend and be that anomaly on the mounting list. My selection is McCaffrey for MVP and Tyreke Hill for offensive player of the year. That was also true for Russell Wilson when the Seahawks were at their peak. Wilson had a great year but he didn't get an MVP vote. I think MVP will be a non-QB this year.
That was sarcasm, right? But Warner had his high-draft position that everyone was falling back on…
That was sarcasm, right?
I was quoting Calsnow because he said something about Warner's high draft position. I just am assuming he was being sarcastic and forgot the green font.Warner had more volume than Purdy did now. Warner threw for 41 TD's in his first MVP season in 1999.
McCaffrey.........Purdy.......McCaffrey without a doubt.
Purdy, not taking anything away from him,but do you guys think he could go to another team and automatically make them better??
We all know CMC had put up big nummbers for Carolina, but could BP do the same for other teams....??
Ask yourselves who would rather have for your own team:
Lamaar or BP??
Mahomes or BP??
Hurts or BP??
Dak or BP??
Josh Allen or BP??
Tua or BP??
Joe Burrow or BP??
CJ or BP??(actually its a fair question)
Herbert or BP??
Justin Fields or BP??( fair question)
Trevor Lawrence or BP??
Kirk Cousins or BP??
Staff or Purdy??
Out of those 13 qbs you could say all 13 or atleast 11 of them you would take over BP.........
BP would not raise those team level at all,but the 9ers would not miss a beat with those qbs ......
THen ask yourself how many rbs you would take over CMC......the answer is zero.
That should give you who the mvp award should go to.......
lol. It's the predominant view at Seahawks dot net, (1 of Shaggy's other sites). I don't disagree with it. However, in their shoes I wouldn't want to go into the Draft without Smith as a back-up plan. Quite rightly Smith would rather the Seahawks make their decision as soon as possible. If released he wants to be available before the FA market officially opens. He took less 2023 money to get that early clause. I could see Carroll fighting tooth and nail to keep him though. Smith is due $22.5M for 2024. He's hard to put a FA market value on.
