Jerry couldn't fire Garret with Romo hurt and the Jets played much better then most thought they would.

Yeah I get that. I still thought them missing the playoffs would warrant a change in Big D. The Rex Ryan situation is far worst than many think. Living in NY I know alot of people here wanted him gone last year when they fired Mike Tannenbaum. I think Rex hasnt had alot of talent to work with on offense, and has got alot more than was expected out of a 4-12 team.

I think Ryan did a decent job with the Jets considering starting a rookie QB and their offensive woes. His team didn't quit and continued to play hard. The best coaching opportunity would be the Lions. The next coach needs to have them play smarter and have more discipline.

I agree they have talent. I think Schwartz was an idiot, and no one respected him.

Ian Rapoport:

#Browns are pushing to interview #Patriots OC Josh McDaniels, per source. First opportunity would be Jan. 5. Nothing firm set up yet.

Yeah I believe that was the initial feeling around here(tri state)... miss the playoffs and bye bye Rex...

However I believe that was under an assumption of a poorous record with minimal progress...

8-8, rookie QB and respectable defense... Rex earned another crack IMO...

Albert Breer:

Per source, Adam Gase has made it clear he'd prefer to wait til after Denver's playoff run to interview for jobs. We'll see if that changes.

Rick Stroud:

Former Bears coach Lovie Smith will be considered for several coaching openings but those close to him say he's very interested in Bucs job.

Schefter reported that he's the favorite for the Bucs job. Jerry Angelo, who hired Lovie Smith in Chicago, spent 14 years as the Bucs director of player personnel and reportedly could join Lovie Smith there as well.

Ian Rapoport:

#Browns already have their first head coaching candidate lined up: #Seahawks DC Dan Quinn. Rising star.

If you were unaware, Quinn also spent time with the 49ers. 2001-02 he was a D-quality control coach and in 2003-04 he coached the DL.

1 breaking point for Browns: I'm told a couple weeks back, Chud was told to cut a player (re: accountability) to send a message. He refused.

Once Josh McDaniels interviews for the Browns job, again, I'll have a helluva time thinking someone else gets it
