My guess is the only way Schwartz comes back is if he sacrifices a Coordinator or two, plus a coach or two as well.

He may not want to give up Linehan but to save his job I bet he does. If Detroit gets a good coordinator and a top QB coach I could live with another year of Schwartz. Not that I want to but it's not my 12 million that gets flushed.

Detroit has the highest payroll in the NFL with dead money so if Junior decides the Lions can't stand to loose 12 more I get that!

I don't get the Bill O'Brien hype. Strikes me as a flammable mix of another young New England OC flameout + a too much/too soon, ridiculous, unearned rise, ala Lane Kiffen. Perfect for the Lions. Geez.

I know some people are turned off by Brian Kelly's personality. But the guy is a proven winner, and he wins everywhere he goes. That's all I care about. When was the last time the Lions hired a coach with that byline? Never.

The hype has to do with filling big shoes after huge controversy and doing a great job of handling the adversity. Not saying that will or will not tranfer to next level. Lane Kiffen has the Schwartz ego, Bill does not.

Also see some looking at the QB situation of Stafford and thinking he may be the man to fix it.

The Fords are very loyal, or cheap when it comes to firing coaches, so if it is not done quickly I think a whole bunch of negotiating will be going on in the background.

Monday will be the day to keep an eye on press conferences.

If the rumors are correct, BK is the guy they wanted last year. Now they really want him and with Schwartz getting canned, the job is his if he wants it. I'm a Lions fan so I'd support it and hold my breath, but the initial feeling is BK as Lions HC = 4 more years of heartache.

But after 50 losses in 5 years by the current regime, I'm willing to take just about anyone new.
