I could never figure out why he bounced around from team to team. I thought he was a talented player as well. I think the Flyers have more former Bolts than the Rangers, but it's close!

Yeah Fed was a well rounded player, a great asset for the teams he played for. Very underappreciated IMO.

We really looked fast last night. The line changes worked out well and Gust instead of Gill increased our defensive speed 10 fold.

they really did. i thought every line looked significantly better. it was awesome to see the 2nd line actually contribute offensively at 5 on 5.

3rd line continued to grind offensively, just couldn't pot one. even with couturier's worst professional hockey period (1st).

I saw something last night that Steve Mason is 4-0 in the second game of back to backs this season while Henrik Lundqvist is 1-3 - now there are different variables to that as well but that's something to consider

But it's Game 7 so every stat and streak can be thrown out the window

I think that they need to stick with those lines for a while. I hate having Vinny dumped on the 4th but the teams overall better for it. B. Schenn also looked better with two grinders on his wings. Heck everyone looked better except for Couts but I'm sure he'll bounce back maybe he was just trying to hard but he was fighting the puck all game.

True but face it hank is no spring chicken and Mase is young...that's a factor for sure.

I agree about Vinny - it does help him in spurts but he's just too inconsistent to keep on one of the top lines - he's fresher if he plays on the 4th line because then he can be used more on the power play

As for Couts, he had some jitters early on but I think the ice might have been off a bit, puck did bounce a lot

No denying that - but at some point, you have to gain the experience, right? Right now, Mase is playing really well and I doubt he's going to beat himself up, so the experience part shouldn't be an issue with him

ya i dont know what the teams respective records were in back to backs..

twitter says tim peel and chris rooney will be the refs tonight, which should be a double sided knife.. they call lots of penalties (less time at EV the better for the flyers), but they typically favor the home team a little more often than other refs

(also if anyone knew about this site before today and didn't tell me, i'm sad about that :))

Yikes, I checked their stats and that's ridiculous - Chris Rooney does average more minors called per game than Tim Peel

So the Flyers will have to do what they did last night and force the refs to have make a few calls in their favor by doing the little things

Hopefully they keep Derek Dorsett in check

EDIT: I think Chris Rooney is the guy to be concerned about, his stats are much higher than Tim Peel

yep.. of the refs that have called more than like 10 games, he's (rooney) got the highest PIMs/game and the highest home team winning percentage. should be interesting.

Yikes I normally would rather that the refs hide their whistles but face it the Flyers special teams are killing the rags...

I wonder if the head coach is able to speak to the refs before the game? If so, Chief should have a conversation with them to inform them about Derek Dorsett - if he does anything like that again tonight they should either not give any penalties or better yet, give Dorsett a two minute minor and a game misconduct

Don't want the game decided on something stupid like that - hopefully the Flyers don't put theirselves in that position

Difference is those refs favor the home team and it's a road game tonight - if the Flyers play the same way tonight as last night, maybe the refs will have no choice but to make calls in the Flyers favor - that's what you hope to see - and more than anything, just take advantage of the PP opportunities that you DO GET

Play every three days and then back to back. Probably worst playoff schedule ever.
