Total defense based on net yards.
Again I'm not advocating NO is anything but mediocre at best. Nor do I care about the majority of stats. They're too subjective. IMHO it doesn't make sense to argue stats I've made that painfully known. Wins and losses are what counts.
Do I really care who wins this game:noidea: I took NO in my pools. Mainly because there are a lot of Seattle homers in them. So one good upset usually puts me way ahead. Besides if NO wins I get to ruffle all the Hawk fan feathers. Which really is no challenge. It's quite easy to do.

Well they aren't mediocre. If you want to use yards, they are one of 4 teams in the league allowing over 400 yards per game. That's not mediocre at best. Since 2014 they've been the worst defense in the league by far.

Wins and losses absolutely count and if you ask me, they win because of their passing offense. They lose because the last two plus years now their defense has been one of the least talented units in the league despite all their spending on it, and teams can move and score at will on them. You can't let decent QB's show up and just have career days on you. You can't just keep letting backs get 10 yards down the field before you touch them. You can't just not show up in the red zone on defense. You can't let guys just convert 3rd downs again and again against you. It's obvious watching the game, the stats just back up what you see subjectively, with objectivity.

I like them as an upset team because when Brees gets hot, that offense is the best in the league.

This will be Jimmy Graham's first game played back in New Orleans. I could see that being motivation for him to have a huge game. On the other hand the Saints might let anyone beat them BUT Graham. They might cover him like a blanket.

Wilson is hurt, Kam won't be 100%, Sowell (even though he's a scrub) is our best LT and he'll be playing injured, and it's an early game to boot. New Orleans is putting a lot of points up each week through the air so the LOB better have their track shoes on. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if Seattle comes home with a loss after this one.

These threads always crack me up. Thread topic: Anyone like the Saints to win this week? It's an opinion. Who cares? A couple people say yes or maybe and give reasons and it's like they assaulted someone's child...:lm:

I would never be able to swing the main streams thought process. All the Hawk homers have polluted their minds with how much of a God RW is.
Some of you kill me. Your comment leads me to believe you think RW is having a decent year:scratch:

Heh. They're 4-1-1 with one of the worst running games in the league, and a defense not playing up to its own lofty standards. So given his assortment of injuries, he's doing alright yes.

Now I realize with your attention span, the last game is all you're able to concentrate on, but Wilson has also had some impressive outings this season.

Does that make Wilson 'God.' Heh. Nope. FFS, he could end up out of the lineup with this pec injury anytime, and we could watch a rookie helm the squad.

That's a lot of worst defenses in the league, batman. The Raiders, Saints, Colts, and a couple others make it a tough call.
That's why picking and choosing stats to argue a point is futile.

Attention span? Please. What is so hard to understand football is a team sport? What great pocket passing games has RW had this season? The Hawks are winning because of the D. Not RW in his current state. He's only a pocket passer to Hawk fans. That doesn't make him a bad QB. When healthy he's certainly top 10, likely top 5 and arguably top 3. But stop trying to sell him as a pocket passer.

You can't stay logically consistent from one post to the next.

Likely top 5. Good enough for me. Arguably top three. Ditto (how many top 5 passers has the franchise ever had?)

And yep, attention span. Please see 2nd half of last season, when he essentially became a pocket passer.

Did the D this season, beat the Falcons? Did it beat the Jets?

Look, I get it, no R.W. isn't the most accomplished pocket passer in the NFL. But he was supposedly UNABLE to be that guy, he was supposedly ONLY able to create on the run. Then he showed over half a season that he could. Hobbled this season he's had his moments. (and his struggles too)

Shitty thing for people who can't stand the Seahawks is that Wilson is still getting better. Still developing.

Look at the highlights I posted. Where in those highlights did Wilson throw any balls from outside the pocket?

I'll wait.

Barnwell: MVP or not, nobody is topping Russell Wilson

Again, 2nd half of last season. Please review.

So now we have what, like 5 "worst" defenses in the league???

No they've been easily the bottom of the barrel for a while there. Early on every year after only playing a handful of games you have all sorts of change that can happen from 1 game here or there. The chiefs last week before the Philly/Min game were leading the league in turnovers, entirely based on the Fitzpatrick game.

But the saints have been easily the worst defense in the past 2.5 years in the NFL.

But everyone loves jumping on those bandwagons first. Oh Bradford is elite now. Oh Crowell is the best young RB in the league... no wait it's Jordan Howard, no wait, Ezekiel Elliott, no wait it's Jay Ajayi...

Are you drunk already?
1. I wasn't talking about your franchise QBs. Who cares? I was giving him credit and posting where all fans may rate him. We already know Seattle has a HOF jacket picked out for him.
2. 8 games would be half a season. He had 5 great games. Why is having 5 great games so hard to accept for Hawk fans? It's a compliment.
3. Yes the D keeps them in every game or flat out wins it. Seattle invested lots of resources in the D. They need to do that.
4. 5 games doesn't make a career. Is he still improving hard to say. He certainly improved last year. This year hard to tell with his injuries.

I think you missed my point. It's the agenda of the poster that seems to determine the pertinent stat. . Usually we see most points against or most yards against, now we have moved on to points per drive...certainly to be followed up soon by yards per drive...
