I'll go with number 1, but everyone with a ticket is still going to sing the Redskins version.

First of all “Hail to the Commanders” has one too many syllables. “Hail, the Commanders” would sound better.

Second of all, both Fight for the Commanders and Leaders on a Mission are incredibly lame.

All of these possibilites would sound better, but are also incredibly lame:

Hail, the Commanders
Hail victory!
Setting the standard / not sued for slander / red salamander / singing with candor
Fight for ol DC

Hail to the Redskins.

I am mildly pleased that they didn't change the entire fight song. Hearing those trumpets and trombones play that classic tune was their best shot at meeting us in the middle.

Hearing that familiar tune after a touchdown will be nice regardless of the lyrics.

I just sang both in my head. Leaders on a mission is an absolute non starter.
