Poor Wilson. I mean he has proven little as QB and his time with Jets has always been a back seat type of affair. Now, after a grueling match, where the kid played with heart, everyone wants to ditch him and find a diamond in the rough among free agents. I say give the kid one more chance.

Wasn't he the guy who hooked up with his mom's friend in a bit of a cougar-cub relationship?

Hahaha, no idea, don’t really follow that stuff, but sounds kinky.

The Jets are in win now mode. I would view sticking with Wilson as a give-up option. Better to fail trying someone.

Just throwing this out there....Philip Rivers or Ben Rothlisberger. Both should be well rested and might want one more chance in the league. I think I read that Rivers was close to coming back last year for the Colts. I'd make the call if I was the Jets.

I agree. However, their response thus far was to call Chad Henne. WTF?

I have a ton of respect for the mega Chad but I think he is probably in that Nick Foles tier of someone you want for just one game and not a whole season where teams can gameplan against his weaknesses

I would hope he's a backup option with Wilson remaining the starter.

You'd definitely hope that although Wilson was one of the worst players in football last year.

Rodgers is only a $9M cap hit this season, so unless he retires, it's not that big of a concern (and he's not going to retire now lol.. why would you? Get the free medical benefits). If Green Bay just flat out released him, then yes everything accelerates for the signing bonus. That would obviously screw the Jets over and be impossible.

Assume you mean New York flat out released him...

Packers have $40M dead cap hit this year on books, nothing carries over to 2024.... nothing Packers due now impacts Jets salary cap.
