I get that, the statue is a part of making the site appealing.

True, and same with the beak, what happened to the rest of it... Dont get me wrong I like it, but my first impression, from a distance, is it is a Eagle.

The first thing I thought of when I saw this statue was the Eagle/Falcon was taking a shit. Just like the Eagles and Falcons.
