Should be a second rounder this year but he is another guy who will probably light up the spandex Olympics and get picked sooner then he should.

He definitely has more upside then anyone else in the draft. But he also has a lower floor.

PFF surely isn't the be all, end all, however Jack Campbell blows away Trenton Simpson from their supposedly objective, subjective reports and it isn't even close.

Simpson had a total 2/12 games played this season where his coverage scored 72 and 81, 3/12 in the mid 60's and 2/12 mid 40's and 5/12 in mid 50's. His tackling scores were mostly very good 8/13 were above 71 and three of those were low 80's, the 4/12 remaining were 45, 51, 60, 64. He had 8 total tackles missed for an 10.5% missed rate and only 1 penalty.

Campbell had 5/12 games coverage scores in the upper 60's, with the remaining 7/12 being 71, 76, 82, 91, 76, 75, 72.
His tackling scores 84, 61, 65, 53, 74, 62, 84, 85, 63, 83, 84, 69. He had 10 total missed tackles for an 8.1% missed rate and 0 penalties.

I wonder if we will even consider anyone other than Sewell.

@Old Lion Sewell is perfect for Hoodie's team, if we're being completely honest. 6'2 253 lbs.

He hasn't had a great year either whether it's coverage or tackling. He did however come on through those last 5 games of the season.

Another LB we might consider is tOSU Tommy Eichenberg. He might very well be available on day 3 unless he tears up the combine which I don't think happens. He's been more than sound fundamentally in all but 2-3 games this season and has actually outperformed Simpson in most cases. 13 missed tackles at 10.5% missed rate and 0 penalties.

I watched that FSU game and he flat lit it up for 21 minutes. Then he went 0 for his next 15 and looked dreadful doing it. He is exponentially more Goff than Goff is: his highs are Mahomes and his lows are zach wilson against the Pats

My wish list (2 - versions) - I'm also thinking we end up drafting between #'s 15-18 in each round for "our picks"

1st RD: DT Jalen Carter
1st RD: DE Isaiah Foskey
2nd RD: S Brian Branch - he's not a 1st round prospect nor is Texas - A&M S Antonio Johnson - but some team might draft them there
2nd RD: ILB Jack Campbell
3rd RD: CB Julius Brents - he has all the physical traits and most of the tools in his toolbox needed - AG hopefully gets the most out of him
5th RD: OT/OG Darnell Wright
6th RD: QB Jayden Daniels
6th RD: RB Miyan Williams

I'm placing a hypothetical trade with KC and their 1st round pick for "our - not Vikings" 2nd and 3rd round picks

1st RD: DT Jalen Carter
1st RD: DE Isaiah Foskey
1st RD: CB Devon Witherspoon - He's worthy of giving up that 3rd round pick - He's better than either Cam Smith or Christian Gonzalez
2nd RD: Jack Campbell
5th RD: OT/OG Darnell Wright
6th RD: QB Jayden Daniels - probably hope or speculation he lasts this long - he's 6'2 and 190 lbs. and not the 200 lbs. listed by LSU
6th RD: RB Miyan Williams

That's four, possibly 6, eventual starters by 2024, if not sooner, with either group. In my opinion. I could have drafted a TE in the 6th round, but I specifically chose not to do so.

I like everything about it, except swap Jayden for Grayson Mccall

I like McCall a lot.

I have no confidence that any of my choices for day 3 would be available.

I think Holmes would need a back-end 3rd round or at worse very early 4th round to secure McCall as a draft pick.

I also doubt the Lions will be in position to draft Ringo or Porter Jr. or even Foskey should they draft in that 15-18 range. I suspect they're all drafted by then.

I am not sure Jack Campbell is fast enough for the NFL. I am hoping some other team finds out.

You could very well be correct, but he kind of plays like and reminds me of a combination of Chad Muma and Logan Wilson. Maybe Wyoming has another ILB we aren't aware of yet.

I am less worried about his speed. He is very big for a ILB. As long as his agility numbers are solid he takes the correct angles his coverage ability it top notch so he will be just fine. I would take him in a heartbeat in the 2nd or thrid.

Is he related to the coach?
