I'm extremely interested in Washington State LB Henley. The problem I have is that he's new to the LB position and we have seen how that's translated so far with Derrick Barnes.

He's a former WR and DB. He should be aware of routes and coverages being both former WR and DB.

@Mebert what can you tell us about Ute LB Diabate?
More athlete than player I think. Decent pass rusher, not good in coverage. Will miss some tackles.

Worth a flyer for his athletic potential, but not a player day 1 outside of situational pass rush

I would prefer Jack Campbell or Justin Flowe in the range that diabate will go.

I like Jack campbell. I really like the speed and power combo of Simpson. We need guys that can cover TEs as well.

Do you guys believe anderson is a hand in dirt DE? Most I see project him as a von miller

I think Anderson is best as a OLB. Opposite side of Hutchinson. Let Cominsky and Paschal have their hands in the dirt

I got to agree with Mebert. Anderson should be a weakside (over LT) mostly 2-point Edge Defender, however he has played a lot of 3-point stance Edge Defender for Alabama this season and last.

As unfair of an assessment of Simpson my take may read, I view him nearly the same as Cards and former Clemson LB Isaiah Simmons. Maybe it's a Cardinal organization problem because they nearly ruined Haason Reddick too until he moved on to the Panthers and then the Eagles and has fared quite well.

Wisconsin has been putting out LB that have fared well as off-the-ball LB. Is there any one on that team that is worthy of consideration?

He will not be there for 2nd pick and I dont feel our first pick should be spent on that position. I am really hoping either porter or carter at this point. but still games to watch them play and see

BTW, I don't dislike Simpson, but I am honestly wary. The one area that may possibly help is having Kelvin Sheppard as his position coach. having played the position collegiately and professionally, I believe, helps towards proper coaching.

To give an analogy, Reggie Bush made a comment on Fox Sports a couple of years back during draft time and he stated that throughout his entire CFB/NFL career he had only one time where his position coach had actually played the RB position. We see it all time where former OL somehow a coach for WR, RB, TE or name a position. I find that odd, peculiar and somewhat disturbing.

I'm assuming you're stating Jalen Carter with the first pick in the first round and Porter being selected for that 2nd first round pick.
Carter is not a top 5 player and probably not a top 10 player - and not by me considering any or all of these media draft pundit sites either. They are wrong more times than I could count with alleged first round prospects.

My dream is we get the 3 pick. QB goes 1, Anderson 2, and then a QB desperate team trades us an obscene amount of picks for 3.

I saw a number of mocks where he was there in the 13-16 range, but now that we keep winning he may be gone.

You know what I want? I want Roger Goodell to say hey, the league has fucked Lions so many times over last 15 yrs with ghost penalties, calls that resulted in rules written or re-written and just to help the morale of an entire state, that we get 2 additional first and 2 additional seconds for us putting up with 50 yrs of BS!

I've been stating since the 2016 draft that the Lions need 3 picks per round for the entire draft in at least one draft.

I still wish for that to happen. Just One Complete Draft.

You and I both know that these mock simulators are nothing more than fodder. They're fun to work with, but they are completely out of line and even when it gets closer to the draft. The work off algorithms.

Would anyone feel differently towards drafting Will Anderson knowing that he has one of the highest missed tackles % in Power 5 or that his tackle grades are below 60 - which is barely replacement level - versus 8/12 opponents for the 2022 season.

His best work/grades in tackling have come against Vandy 79.3, La-Monroe 77.0, Mississippi State 76.7 and Austin Peay 76.3. All other games he was below 60

Utah State............. 56.9
Texas ...................... 30.7
Arkansas ............... 41.3
Texas A&M .......... 51.6
Tennessee ............ 51.3
LSU ......................... 28.3
Mississippi ........... 37.3
Auburn .................. 59.3

14 total missed tackles this season for a missed tackle rate of 27%

Jared Verse is nearly as bad having missed 11 tackles for a missed tackle rate of 27%

He also scored below 60 in all games but his last 3 versus Syracuse, La-Laf and Florida

Isaiah Foskey however scored above 73.0 in tackle rate on all but two games - Cal 46.5 and USC 60.3

He missed 1 tackle for a missed tackle rate of 3.1%

Myles Murphy has split his games evenly having scored below 60 in 6 games and the other 6 games his worse graded score was 76.3 to his highest graded score of 77.8

His Pass rush grades have all been below 70 sans one game and that was against Wake Forest scoring a 92.8

He's lazy and takes not just plays off but entire quarter's or half's off during some games and I'm not kidding. He's never lived up to what was expected from him.

Yes, he is one of those possible freak athletes and at times it clearly shows on game day.

Personally, I want nothing to do with the possibility of drafting him.
For me it depends where he is available. He wont need to play as much at the NFL level so he wont need to take plays off.

Those first 4 games were not good but after that he has been.
