Marc Stein reported an hour ago the Nets have made Deron Williams, Brook Lopez and Joe Johnson available via trade.
If im the lakers or Knicks I go all in on D Williams.
All 3 of them are making too much $$. Johnson is getting up there age wise....Lopez & DWill are injury prone.
Pass.
I'll send Smith and Jennings for Williams.
Yeah, the injuries would be a red flag. But if you could get them in a deal similar to Lin, where the Nets are paying a chunk of their salary, it might be worth a look.
I care. This is music to mine and Danny's ears
I'm pretty sure the Lakers are paying all of Lin's salary. I don't think basketball works like baseball where teams can eat salary in order to trade high priced players.
I would stay away from all three. They are either injury-prone or expensive players past their primes. The Lakers don't need anymore of those types of contracts.

If Im Cleveland I try and get Lopez.
The bulls go after Joe Johnson and trade Dunleavy, 1st rd pick and Hinrich. Nets get 2 expiring contracts and a 1st rd pick.
starting lineup
Rose
Johnson
Butler
Gasol
Noah
That would be nice. Brooks becomes your back up PG and Butler can still play the 2 for like 10-12 mins a game. Johnson then gives insurance in case Butler leaves next year.
Pretty sure that with either Boozer or Lin, the Bulls or Rockets are paying part of their salary. Could be wrong, but I remember that part of what made it a good deal was the Lakers not having to pay the full salary.

Correct on Boozer. Lakers are only paying roughly $3mil of whatever large salary he was owed.
The good thing about the Lin deal was getting the first rounder from the Rockets, plus the contract is expiring. However, the Lakers have to pay the full amount of the large salary he is owed.
Okay, I knew it was one of them, just got them mixed up.
They look a lot alike.
