This is a very BIG pick up for ND. They get their NT of the future. They lose one recruit and gain a bigger one. Great job by the staff. He came out of no where some what.

Don't get me wrong Yeargin is a very good player but Mokwuah means more to this class. ND needed to find a NT in this class and they got one. They have enough LB in this class.

Sidenote: He is moving up the charts. Schools like Florida and Bama went after him hard.

This is an outstanding pick up.

Rivals shows the only other offers he received were from Connecticut, Pittsburgh and Rutgers. But Rutgers articles I read said it was considered a big loss for them. It's interesting why he seemed to have so few offers.

The bottom line is if you can't stop the run you're immediately in trouble. You need those big guys in there to clog it up and take up blockers. It's sort of a thankless job but if you don't have one good luck from getting gashed on the ground. Anyone who knows football knows you can have the best linebackers out there but if the big guys aren't doing their job then the linebackers can't fill. That is why losing Nix was such a big deal. Not a lot of those guys out there, more good rangy linebackers available than Nosetackles.

Great pick up I had a feeling Yeargin would end up else where when he was looking around.

Had the same feeling myself...oh well.

This kid has a nice upside from what I've seen...position of need is most important.

BTW, Jay Hayes is going to be a beast...he's a good player who can play in the trenches on D.

He didn't have major offers because when He committed to Rutgers he shut down his recruitment. Word has it that Auburn and Bama wanted to offer him but he told them not to bother. He let ND talk and he liked what he heard. For him it was about Religion and Education.

I was going to say the reason he doesn't have more is he basically told the SEC he wasn't interested.
