It's inevitable that players are going to get paid soon. The top 5 conferences are going to be closer to a semi-pro / minor league to the NFL. Expect a break away from the NCAA and hopefully the lockin to the bowl system, with a better playoff system that doesn't have playin games at neutral sites. The 55 schools stuck in limbo will have a problem.
LOL at thinking these athletes aren't getting paid already. Those tattoos aren't cheap you know. You really think the players at any SEC school, along with schools like Texas, OU, tOSU, etc are starving? They stay in 5 star hotels when they travel and eat 1000 times better than the actual students do. Stop being so naïve, peeps.....
Y'all really are losing sight of what this is all about. If they need to be paid and a semi-pro league than go start one and leave the colleges alone. I see so many posters on here make statements to be cool or go along with the consensus. If a stud isn't content to showcase his talents while getting an education just in case he doesn't make it too bad for him! The damn kids are getting paid with an education. You're letting the 5 percenters control the 95 percenters. There is still a responsibility from the schools to educate their students! Or do even 5 percent of the players even make it to the NFL?
I promise the fans at The University of Alabama are going to come out to watch the crimson jerseys. Does it help if they're great? Yes, but the fans are still coming if the superstars go to some semi pro league, There are still very good players that will never play a down in the NFL that will play for the Tide and play well!
