I'm with you on the 4 point shot.I personally don't like either of these ideas. The three-pointer is enough. Young players are already forgoing working on their midrange game for dunks and three-pointers. They don't need an even deeper shot to work on. You shouldn't get 4 points for a lucky halfcourt heave at the buzzer either.
I also don't think they should widen the court. Defense is difficult enough under the current rules. If players want to hang out around the baseline three-point line, pump fake, and drive, then they take that chance of stepping out of bounds on the initial push off. Giving them more space to do that just creates yet another disadvantage for the defense. I can't think of any reason to lengthen the court.
The enlarged court I could live with but see no real need for.
