This is making me kind of mad.

Why is Darnold still in the game?

Limping, getting hit on every drop back.

If Minnesota loses to the Rams next week, this is why.

it does seem that 40 years later the parcells rules for QB are just as relevant

# of starts is a huge factor.
Don't recall if these were Parcells rules but have heard others say that, as well.....along with completion %, TD/INT ratio and winning.

On the contrary I see a lot of people high on at least a couple qbs. I’m not, I feel like I did the year Trevor Lawrence came out.
I get it...and I'm not saying fans should not have opinions but they are guesses at best. Fans don't watch hours of tape, watch tape WITH the QBs, talk to their coaches and teammates, etc. Even elite FOs do this and get it wrong on QBs.

Joy making it harder for all the other women out there that actually try to do their jobs. That Skip stuff sounds plausible too because I remember someone hacked his Twitter and claimed most of his DMs were him hitting up escorts and other women

If you think she’s the only one at fox or ESPN I got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you

The way they’ve pushed them, it’s pretty clear it’s going

He has one bad game and it’s the end of the world lol forgot he is the only qb in football not allowed to have a bad game

To be fair, with what has happened with his career, even Darnold fans like me have been waiting for the other shoe to drop and are likely wondering if last night was it.

Personally, I think it was likely just one bad game, but as I've said before, until he strings together a couple of seasons like this one every sub-par game is gonna have some folks wondering.

If he comes up small in the playoffs against the Rams?

That would make 2 poor performances in a row in the 2 biggest games.

And he would cost himself a lot of money.

If he plays well this weekend, win or lose, the Detroit game will be mostly forgotten.

How do you know that? at this time last year did anyone think McCarthy was going top 10? Maybe not aware - and, yes, maybe he works out - but QBs are often overdrafted. Guessing it's more likely a 5th QB taken turns into Ponder than a stud.

No disrespect to you, but I always crack up when fans think they have a clue about scouting college QBs. NFL FOs - even good ones - see every game and every pass these guys make.......They watch tape with them and ask what they see.....they interview them and get a feel for the type of person or work ethic they may have.....they talk to their coaches and teammates.....and they miss all the time on QBs.

also the "everyone else projects" means little, as well. Hell, if they wanted to they could get fans to believe will Howard should go in round 1...or even top 10.

I'm not scouting these guys personally. I'm reiterating scouting reports that I've read.

Patriots about to screw themselves out of the top pick.

Buffalo should take a knee and run out the clock.

The top 10 teams in draft order all lost except the Patriots and Jets, who both tanked their draft spot as a result. Miami loses to the Jets and misses the playoffs (would've been out anyway with the Broncos win). Bills basically had a bye week while establishing some records (Cook tied the franchise single season rushing TD mark, albeit in 3 more games than OJ; Bills became the first team to have 30 passing and 30 rushing TDs in league history - again in 17 games), Josh kept his start streak going, and Von Miller got the sack he needed for a $1.5M bonus during the first series.

That's about as good of a Sunday as they could have while losing their own game, lol. I was actively rooting for the Bills to let the Pats win and screw themselves. So funny to see the Patriots players actively celebrating and grandstanding every play as if winning what was essentially a preseason level game was a big accomplishment. Then Mayo gets canned. Epic.

EDIT: I missed that the Bears were at #10, who did actually win. Make that top 9 lol.

Oh I agree it’s how it needs to be, I just don’t think tanking really happens in the nfl though.

In most cases, the bad teams will simply lose regardless. NFL players certainly won't tank, since their contracts are much more tenuous than NBA contracts. Players in general are worried about their next contract more than who the team can get in the draft to replace them. Maybe star players will slack off if they have security with their contracts, but that's about it.

No reason it should. If the idea is to help bad teams become good, the team with the worst record should have the 1st pick in the next draft.

As far as tanking to get it, that's between the team and their fans.

The league tries to make it about competitive balance, but everyone in the league gets to play those tanking teams in the NBA. A little more if they're in your own division, but that's marginal.

The bigger problem are these stupid schedules. No team should be done playing a team in their own division before the new year (Lakers/Kings for example). Lakers have two back to backs with the Nuggets the opponent on the second night later in their schedule. Why?
