Bengals fired the coach
If he comes up small in the playoffs against the Rams?
That would make 2 poor performances in a row in the 2 biggest games.
And he would cost himself a lot of money.
If he plays well this weekend, win or lose, the Detroit game will be mostly forgotten.

To be fair, with what has happened with his career, even Darnold fans like me have been waiting for the other shoe to drop and are likely wondering if last night was it.
Personally, I think it was likely just one bad game, but as I've said before, until he strings together a couple of seasons like this one every sub-par game is gonna have some folks wondering.
The rams are one of the worse defenses in the league
It’s be a major red flag if he sucked against them
Yeah my badCoach or dc?
Cause that would be major if they let go of the hc
Yeah my bad

Darnold wins comeback POY right? Can't think of a more deserving player this season.
Good point, damn, what kind of bar is set for that award when you put it that way? LolI mean, Damar Hamlin died on the field, came back and still didn't win Comeback Player of the Year
Understand......From same services that said Mahomes should not go high in round 1 but Trubisky should?I'm not scouting these guys personally. I'm reiterating scouting reports that I've read.
I can agree those on the field are trying to win. But FOs can tank. I guess coaches could by playing lesser players. My team may have done so in benching Winston who while not good certainly a lot better than alternatives. Guessing other teams have done this.In most cases, the bad teams will simply lose regardless. NFL players certainly won't tank, since their contracts are much more tenuous than NBA contracts. Players in general are worried about their next contract more than who the team can get in the draft to replace them. Maybe star players will slack off if they have security with their contracts, but that's about it.
what do you mean by "it"? I doubt we just release him until not a cap killer. do you mean it as in never takes the field again?Watson is said to have suffered a setback in his Achilles recovery. If so that could be it for him in Cleveland.

Have not heard anything here about it yet.
