Last season N.D. beat a ranked BYU team (# 16), a ranked Syracuse team (# 16) a ranked Clemson team (# 4) and beat a ranked S. Carolina team (# 19) in a bowl game. 4-2 vs. ranked teams. Lost to Ohio State (# 2) and USC (# 6).

This season N.D. has beaten a ranked dook team (# 17). 1-1 so far this season vs. ranked teams.

That Syracuse team was ranked after a hot start of beating nobody basically. They lost 6 of 7 once the schedule heated up.

He had DJ Moore in Carolina and Kupp in LA. Not exactly chopped liver.
Guessing someone told you but if not Kupp (and their #2 whose name escapes me) were out when he was in LA.

I mean...it's not like the Browns had terrible receivers.

But I hope he does well
Terrible? at times he did IMO. OBJ who was usually hurt. A slow, regressing Landry (at least in his last season) who is maybe a good #2 and then what? A 6th rounder and practice squad level guys?

Unless playing us I hope the kid can figure things out.

Watson is a nice thing?

Weren't a lot of Browns fans already called for DTR after last week's game?
Not sure about the first question what you are asking. The second? Only the extreme Watson critics. But after Steeler game. Not last week.

Baker was working with Jefferson, Skowronek, Higbee and Atwell with Akers at RB during his stretch with the Rams. Kupp and Robinson were injured, and even Skowronek missed the last few games too.

In a post about Watson's availability, he said that Browns' fans just can't have nice things jokingly.

Doesn't really matter. They were ranked at the time.

Like how Oregon will get credit for beating a then ranked CU team. But I don't expect the Buffs to get enough wins to finish the season ranked.

so as I said not very good receivers. Jefferson their best and at best he's maybe a below avg. #2 or solid #3, isn't he?

Probably soon to the 4 behind a returning Kupp, Nacua and Atwell.

Just saying that ranking was ill-advised and unearned (and I'm a big fan of the Orange).

I agree with that. Personally I don't pay attention to the CFB rankings until after the CCG's.

The Orange are much the same this year. Hot start, lose to Clemson and now the real schedule is in effect, but not quite as severe as last year. Next up ranked UNC and Florida State, but no currently ranked teams the rest of the way after those two.

Best of luck to Syracuse the rest of the season.

so as I said he did not have good receivers in SF.

what a find in nacua.

I liked the pick when they made it, but I could never have expected this. He's basically stepped right in for Kupp without much of a drop off. Out of their 3 million draft picks last year, at least 4 are making an impact so far (Nacua, Avila, Byron Young and Kobie Turner). I guess you could count their punter as the 5th lol, he's played pretty well.

Nope. Why would you say that? After 11-12 years it was evident he couldn’t close the deal at Notre Dame. Why would ND fans want a coach who doesn’t want to be there?

I hear Charlie Weis and Tyrone Willingham are available.

I've always found the ranked opponent thing to be a bit misleading. If a team is ranked because they started out beating a few bad teams and end up unranked...doesn't seem like it should count.

I agree with that. Or if a ranked team is badly over ranked to start and has a disappointing season.
