Solid player if unspectacular. Doesn’t do a whole lot of things extraordinarily but does a lot of things above average. Really took a step forward as a sure tackler this year. If he fit into the economics would have loved to have had him back.@fightinfunbags what is the intel on Marcus Epps?
Virginia's Kihei Clark bet on Furman. Convince me otherwise.
LMAO
I have been a Kihei hater from day 1.
But cmon man. That ain’t funny.
He isn’t a great player, but he is as competitive as they come.
And in all honesty, I put this loss firmly on Bennett too.
I was just talking to a co-worker this morning about how much I hate his press break.
The only open teammate for him to hit was 50 feet away. Unlikely a 5’6” guard is making that play out of a trap.
He really just needed to call timeout.
Tony B's style is fine for a best of 5 or over the course of a year. The fact Virginia won a title speaks to how good that team was. His style isn't built for one and done.
Can’t throw her under the bus. If you picked a PAC 12 team to win the NCAA tournament (not since 1997) that’s on you my guy. This isn’t baseball volleyball or water polo. PAC 12 doesn’t win in the sports anyone cares about nationally.Ummm, @Mecca ? I went with you.
Yeah, I do agree with that for sure. And I absolutely love Tony Bennett. Let’s get that out right now.
But still…
There are a couple things he does that just aren’t good coaching. The total package is one of the very best coaches at any level.
But his overly conservative handling of fouls, and substitution patterns that stem from that, along with the press break are the two things that just kill me every time.

Also the pace. The fewer possessions you run the less chance you have to blow people out.
Virginia is one of the ten slowest teams in the country. When you have a clear talent advantage that pace will keep lesser teams in the game.
That’s some great chalk board stuff coach. Would love to ingest basketball in this way. I can hang in football but can’t get to this place you have with basketball. Respect.Yeah, it keeps lesser teams close for sure.
That is one of the main issues I have with the press break. Spacing is another issue, BUT…
Bennett’s goal is to get the ball across half court, then stop and run offense. And I get wanting to control the tempo.
But there has to at least be an option to attack.
And Bennett has his PG inbounding to a wing or forward who almost instantly throws the ball back to the PG.
There is no catch and look up, diagonal, back. It is just back.
Teams who scout UVA well don’t even really have to respect the attack threat. They stunt toward the trap on the first pass, but really try to get in position to trap the PG when he gets it back.
And when the D executes?
You got a trap of a tiny guard basically underneath his own basket with nobody available for him to throw backwards too.
The best press breaks always have an attacking option and a safety valve behind.
Bennett’s basically has neither.
Like, he totally looks, and acts, like he’s on steroids.I get the premise but 6 months seems long especially considering how long he's been out

But, if he isn’t pissing hot, let’s get it.
Jon Jones, Brock Lesnar…..
Exceptions have been made before.
He looks a bit beefier lol
Ummm, @Mecca ? I went with you.
