long term deals with pitchers usually arent good......especially in an environment where pitching is so dominant like right now. What is the league overall batting average? like under .250 right now? I saw there were like 25 guys with sub 3 ERA's right now.....out of those guys--- players on big money free agent contracts are by far the minority. Verlander is one. Wheeler is one. That is it.

most are young guys that have been developed and are mostly far from free ageny....Gonsolin, Alcantra, Mclanahan, Cotes, Manoah, Perez, Gilbert, Blackburn, Burnes, Mikolas, Urias, McKenzie, Bieber, Lopez.....

some are reclamation projects are cheaper guys like Tailon, Mikolas, Anderson, Rodon....

the amount of pitchers on big free agent deals that switch teams that are highly succsful is actually pretty rare.

next year Nola has a 16M club option I am sure they pick up. Gibson is gone after this year. Elfin has actually been pretty decent and has a player option for 15M next year- I bet he declines.

next year that leaves Philly with Wheeler--- Nola on the last year of his deal- and Suarez......and no one close in the pipeline- and a bunch of hitters intheir 30's that play no defense making big money- and Realumuto- who is starting to regress.

itll be interesting to see if they resign Nola. Not sure Id want to give him 5 years 25 mill a year or so into his mid-late thirties- but thatll prob. be the price- probably the low end actually. Thats why its so important to develop good young pitching.

I actually really liked Bohm- I hope he gets straightened out- he looked good his rookie year. Stotts is 24...its time for him to get going. He is talented but at 24 he better get it together sooner than later. Id much rather have Arias or Rocchio.

Happy Juneteenth AND Father's Day, y'all...:D

Did the father's day thing last night. I'll be disappointed if my sons spend any money on me. I told them last year to save their money, nothing I wanted.

So they of course didn't listen to me and got me framed pictures of Ohio State's '14 win over meeeechegan & a '14 national championship picture. I really like them. But I wish they wouldn't have spent their money on them.

You don't have enough RB's?
Nope. Miles Sanders has never broken out and has a fumbling issue. Kenneth Gainwell was a promising rookie. Hunt provides a nice change of pace to these two guys for a three headed monster. You can never get enough RB depth in the NFL. It keeps guys from dominating stats and eventually your salary cap…aka…Dallas Cowboys who are overpaying a marginal and beat up Zeke Elliott.

Yes it was a bit ridiculous that Texas got a regional over OU but they have used it as motivation.

I want that scumbag's suspension announced ASAP so I can make fun of any Browns fans that might have an issue with the length of the suspension. He deserves whatever he gets. And I don't wanna hear any BS from fans that it's too long.
