This is exciting! Do you mind giving us a break down of this young talent in terms of who is most likely to be too good for Cleveland to pay so we fans of teams with an actual payroll can start sizing them up?

lol.......hey- after all the hype and failure of guys like Bohm I dont blame you......although- MAYBE Stott will actually live up to some hype- we shall see. While their is a strong correlation between payroll and success- damn if I am not glad that there are teams like hte Phillies to be the exception to the rule. lol. I guess Hoskins has been decent but career best of 2.1 WAR is not exactly killing it. Suarez has certainly come back to earth.

Phillies have won 14 of 16. The Phillies actually aren’t dead on arrival every season like the Indians are. They’ll never win. I’ve actually been to a parade for my baseball team. Cleveland never will.

The Cleveland Baseball Team won a World Series before the Yankees did. So they got that going for them.

The Indians have won more games than every single team in the AL except the Yanks the last 10 years and def. have a better record than the Phillies.

I mean- being in the far superior league does not help- but they are going to be just fine- especially now that they have a new minority owner who will eventually take over and spend more. The Indians/Guardians have such a better track record of developing and winning consistently than the Phillies its ridiculous.

just as a note- on the MLB top 100 list--- the Phils have 2 guys--- one at #71 and one at #100. Not exaggerting when I say they might have the worst player development track in all of the majors right now.

You’re right. But that gets mitigated because it’s a real sports city that funds a baseball team.

well, Bieber is here for 2 more years after this one. McKenzie and Quintrell each I think 4 more years depending--- maybe 5 for Mckenzie- not sure if he got enough service time......to make room in the rotation I wouldnt be surprised if they traded Plesac. With Espino coming up- they are going to have to make room at some point.

Itll be interesting with Bieber if they resign him or not. WIth the new minority owner who will become the majority owner- it wouldnt surprise me if they signed him if he didnt want every last dollar--- but most of the time, signing pitchers to long term deals does not work out. i. e. Guardians usually do a pretty good job of moving on before they fall off and are stuck with a bad deal i. e. Clevinger, Kluber, etc. The Clevinger trade for instance was absolutely brilliant.

Prior to last year- Ithought Bieber would be gone- but then he got injured last year- and his velocity is down this year- and even though he has been very good- I am not sure I would want to give him a 6-7 year deal like they just gave to Jose Ramirez. Though- with the new ownership ties and recent history- it wouldnt surprise me if they signed him if it was reasonable.

the Dodgers are Yankees are good because they can both spend AND can develop. If you have to buy all your players- it usually works out poorly- especially the later part of their deals.- and especially with pitching. Thats why it would be a real shame if this is what Suarez is- I thought he could be more.
