And with the hyped rookie class of QBs coming in with the draft of 2023, it’s almost detrimental to a team to bring Mayfield on now if they’re unsettled at QB. It’s better that they struggle with a mediocre QB in 2022 to put themselves in the position to draft higher in round 1.

How is it detrimental if they invested a pick in Corral already this year? These rookies are not ready to step in; that's why none of them went first round.

Unless they would rather just tank and why add an extra $19 mil to the payroll?

Eagles with a top 10 QB could be a legit contender. The only issues with the current roster is a safety which will be addressed before the season and the uncertainty at QB. Their 2023 draft plan will be QB centric when Hurts fails anyway.

He won’t play much year 1. That’s Darnold…a QB they’re already paying. Corral transitions to the starter somewhere around week 10-11. I would have to check when their Bye falls.

Sizeable gap IMO. Mayfield is a viable starting QB; Darnold is a stop-gap at best.

Darnold's best year is closest to Mayfield's worst, when he played through a shoulder injury last year. Baker's 2018 and 2020 are light year's better than anything Darnold has done to date, and I'm not close to being a Baker apologist lol.

Eagles rush numbers were misleading because through the first 6-7 games they hardly ran the ball at all. Despite that, they still finished with the number 1 rush offense in the league. And there is no comparison between the two offensive lines. Murray hasn’t been protected well in his whole time there.

This Mayfield/Darnold comparison needs to stop. Mayfield's much better than Darnold. Both have been in the league for four years.
