Eagles rush numbers were misleading because through the first 6-7 games they hardly ran the ball at all. Despite that, they still finished with the number 1 rush offense in the league. And there is no comparison between the two offensive lines. Murray hasn’t been protected well in his whole time there.

How much of that is Murray holding onto the ball too long? He's been most dangerous when trying to stretch out plays.

I'm not a fan of Hurts either, but I just don't see Murray being the answer in Philly either (if Arizona would even move him).

Sizeable gap IMO. Mayfield is a viable starting QB; Darnold is a stop-gap at best.

Career #s:

Mayfield: 60 games, 61.6%, 14125 yards, 7.3 avg, 92 TD, 56 INT, 134 sacks, 87.8 rating
Darnold: 50 games, 59.8%, 10624 yards, 6.5 avg, 54 TD, 52 INT, 133 sacks, 76.9 rating

Darnold's best year is closest to Mayfield's worst, when he played through a shoulder injury last year. Baker's 2018 and 2020 are light year's better than anything Darnold has done to date, and I'm not close to being a Baker apologist lol.
Sorry. I’m not a former high school soccer player who played JV his senior year so I know better than to lean solely on stats. I’ve actually evaluated QB play for years and I know what I’m doing. The biggest difference between Mayfield and Darnold is the quality of the roster around them. Both guys are subpar and not good enough. Either guy is a stop gap until Corral is ready. Mayfield isn’t good enough to divert from that plan and they already have a stop gap in place that knows the system, the coaching staff knows him, and he doesn’t cost any further draft capital to acquire. For me, it’s a nonsensical move. I think the only thing you have going for you here is that Carolina is a bad organization. So it’s plausible they would do something stupid. You could likely get a job in their front office to be honest. You’re as clueless as they are.

Darnold is going to end up being a solid backup that can fill in for 3-4 games if your starter gets hurt. If your starter goes down for a long period.....your team is fucked.

I could see the Eagles trading for Jackson....if Hurts isn't the answer next season.

This Mayfield/Darnold comparison needs to stop. Mayfield's much better than Darnold. Both have been in the league for four years.

BM: 29-30 / SD: 17-32

Number of seasons with 3,000 passing yards. BM- 4 / SD- 1

TD to int ratio. BM: 92-56 / SD: 54-52

Seasons having more TD's than int's. BM- 4 / SD- 2

Rating. BM- 87.8 / SD- 76.9
Darnold = just a guy you will never win big with
Mayfield = just a guy you will never win big with

Why are you lobbying on this message board? None of us are in a position to trade for your fluke trash anyway so why the snow job?

Mayfield had them within grasp of the AFC title game....the defense couldn't get a stop.....

Murray is a difficult QB to protect because of what you cite. That makes it even more important that he plays behind a plus unit.

Stop. Mahomes got hurt. And the Browns under Mayfield was all about managing a game with an elite rush attack and OL.

I'm not sure I'd call a rushing attack led by a 700 yard RB (once you trade away the 700 yard QB) a plus unit.

The Eagles were a top 5 OL last year according to PFF. They’ve been a top group for quite sometime.

Lamar? Why? That dude has shown that he is easy to figure out and take away come playoff time. If the Eagles don’t make the trade this off season, they’re going QB in the draft next year.

You think teams haven't figured out Murray?

Because you asked if Baker is better than Darnold and he is. 6-8 games bigger? No, but 2-3 not unreasonable.

Now if you want to say not enough to pay Baker to win 2-3 extra games I would not disagree.

I wouldn't call Sanders a dominant back to take advantage of that though.
You don’t need a dominant back? What the fuck year are you living in? That back you’re talking about burns out and is hella expensive. Just ask the Cowboys. They have 3-4 guys who are plenty good enough. It’s about their OL.

Baker was a top 10 QB per QBR and PFF that year. That playoff game we won? 2 starters on the OL were out as were their backups AND one of their backups. He met Blake Hance for the first time when he entered that game. The D was awful in 2020, as well.

Murray is actually a QB though. Jackson is an athlete playing QB. Murray is legitimately a dual threat. Jackson is the epitome of inconsistency as a passer. That’s why Baltimore would be giving up on him. In the Murray scenario it’s because the Cardinals want to see more before committing to big QB $.
