Browns just need depth pieces. It's a smart strategy since they will need to parse a couple of the higher salary guys.

Loved the Bell pick though.
some of our fans are comedy gold. I mean, some guys they complain about not taking we end up getting much later than where they wanted them. It's almost like our real FO might know more about a guy's value than a fake FO member

I disagree we HAVE to move him.

Luckily, our current FO/coaches wont make a decision out of emotion. I'd be shocked if we just released him and if no one wants to pay what we want he might, in fact, come to camp with us. Would be best for everyone to forget anything that has happened so far and treat him as though he was any other player....especially if Watson is suspended.

If not for all of the drama that will happen, I would agree.

But Baker seems to have made it pretty clear that he wants out and if the Browns were interested in keeping him, they wouldn't have signed Watson.

Unless the Browns are angling to be on Hard Knocks, going into training camp with Baker still on the roster just seems like begging for unnecessary drama.

Not sure where you got those games as schedules are not out. Someone who has an in with the Browns shared what he was told our schedule would be....3 of those teams were in first 5. But not confirmed.

I feel pretty firmly that Baker will not play another down for the Browns, like 99% sure. I think they wait it out and maybe a player gets hurt in training camp but if he doesn’t get traded eventually he will be cut, not that they wouldn’t just keep him to possibly get a compensatory pick next season but the drama wouldn’t be worth it.
I think it is realistic at this point that Watson isn’t suspended until 2023 but we will see, things can definitely change.
I think more likely he wont be there but not nearly 99%. Drama would be way overrated IMO. sure, probably some guys who don't like him but guessing a lot of the players still do. Might be true of a lot of QBs.

did you open this? They all say date/time TBA. I promise the NFL schedule release has not happened yet.

I opened it and just looked, didn't notice that date/times were all TBA.

I did think it was odd that they would have 4 road games in a row, but chalked it up to ''Browns luck''. lol

I think the Browns told the truth (otherwise why make it public) when they said the plan was go into 2022 UNLESS a top tier QB could be acquired. If fans knew this, certainly Baker and his team knew.

He probably does want out but I'm confident Berry and/or Stefanski could explain to him what he needs to do that would help him IF the Browns planned to keep him into training camp. The drama is overblown. Hell the media tries to make it up when they can....they asked Ward questions about the QBs to try and stir up more controversy during his presser and he said he still talks to Baker all the time and baker was among first to congratulate him.

a couple examples of stories I think are overblown are the following.....

1) No one has reached out to Baker, insinuating no one likes him - Does it have to be on instagram or Twitter to count? Maybe they went the old fashioned way and simply shot Baker a text or went really old fashioned and called? Might have thought a public comment might not look so good toward Watson.

2) The "we need an adult at QB" comment by the FO. I have a really hard time believing anyone in this FO would make that comment about any player who was still on the roster (previous FOs here? Maybe). No one attributed to the comment nor the context for which it was said. Just as likely someone asked if they'd start a rookie next year and that was the reply.

So which 7 teams in the AFC make the playoffs? I'm thinking Chiefs, Bengals, Colts, Bills, Chargers, Browns, and maybe Donks or Raiders...
I could definitely see a SB hangover for Cinci. They had a lot of injury luck last season AND a last place schedule. Now have a first place schedule and cannot expect the same luck.

Ravens had a ton of injuries and could see them replacing Cinci (they also have a last place schedule)

I hope the schedule I saw is legit as has us playing Carolina week 1. Don't recall the last time we got an easy game week 1.

Great point about Cincy. Didn't think about that...

Because nothing will happen this season involving his case but it might after the season?

Yeah, according to what Shane said, it looks like the civil stuff has been postponed until 2023.

I'm not 100% sure why it would matter. Seems like, for the NFL, it's a matter of did he do anything that violates NFL rules of player conduct. I could see them waiting out the criminal portion. Not sure about civil suits though.

I'm sure the NFL would like to get past this as quickly as possible and that just dealing with it now and letting Watson and his lawyers worry about the civil suits would be the quickest way.
