@dtgold88 @Shanemansj13 say what you want about drafting a kicker- browns BADLY needed one and this guy seems like a badass

hey ya fucking kicker!

love trading a 4th rounder this year for a 5th rounder and a 4th next year.
They just traded Troy Hill back to the Rams too for a future 5th. I have a feeling this has to do with clearing more money and a possible trade

Btw I love York

@dtgold88 @Shanemansj13 Browns clear some cap space, and get a 5th rounder next year for Troy Hill. Emerson pick makes a little more sense now- though you cant have enough CB's i nthe modern NFL.

should free up a few million in cap space whether this year or next......now have extra picks in the 4th and 5th next year-- just missing their #1 of course. I like having a little extra ammunition to move around the draft board nxt year if they have too---- draft isnt over either.

15 of 19 on 50+ yarders in college?

no joke kicking i nthe wind in Cleveland- but our kicking game fucked us last year. Having to use a 4th rounder on a kicker isnt ideal- but if he is a long term good kicker like the Bengals just got last year- its well well worth it. The kicking game was a disaster at times last year.

I don't have an issue with it at all....though no lock it works out because the Cinci K has. So far.

McGlaughlin had a weird year last year. Money from under 40 and from 50+. sucked from 40-49. But those are the ones ya need to hit.

It was cool to see Buckeyes get drafted 10 & 11. And # 12 pick Jameson Williams started his career at Ohio State before transferring to Bama.
Been a long time since I've enjoyed a draft like this. Almost all of our defensive needs are at least being addressed...

I always like watching the draft.

One of my all time favorite moments was the '07 draft when nobody drafted Brady Quinn. He was given his own room as more picks were announced and his name wasn't called. Fucking pansy.

So what did I get in return for enjoying that too much? My team wasted a first round pick on him. :gaah:

Just one of the reasons I think the # 22 is very unlucky.

Man, still talking about poor Cheesecake Baker...

Where will he land...?

Said this in another thread. But if no teams want him he can always go to the fan controlled league and back-up Johnny Manziel.

If it fills a need and the kid can kick, nothing wrong with it.

If memory serves the Browns had one of the lowest fg percentages in the league.

A good kicker can win a couple of games a season.

I heard a talking head commenting on this yesterday.

He was saying that the problem isn't Baker, it's that the Browns HAVE to move him and other teams know it. So they aren't getting the kinds of offers for him that they normally would.

Can you imagine if they don't get him moved, the NFL suspends Watson for the first 5 games, Baker plays well and the Browns are sitting at like 4-1 when Watson is ready to play?

It would be the most Baker and the Browns thing ever. lol

I'm sure given another opportunity plenty of teams would take Tucker or Vinatieri in the late first round provided some hindsight. Not to say this kid is going to be anything near that but a 4th rounder on a kicker is a no brainer given their situation

I think we are at roughly a 50/50 chance on this happening. (Not necessarily the record part)

He’s a solid guy but for a dynamic pass offense I don’t think he can be the “main” guy anymore. Maybe his value grows when defenses have to sell out to 1) get pressure vs a stout OL or 2) commit more personnel to the box for an elite run game. Cooper will get his but he will put more pressure on the OL protections and run game because he is not the kind of number 1 that is going to draw extra coverage or cushion or help over the top. A true number 1 in the NFL right now is a guy that needs to draw extra coverage on nearly every down.
I agree and like I said, he can be productive but not what he was.
