I think Cousins deal with the Vikings was the first I can remember that was fully guaranteed. It's how it works. That's why when a player signs a big contract, one of the first questions asked is "How much is guaranteed?" because there's a solid chance that the guaranteed money is all the player will get.
What will be interesting to see is what effect the Browns fully guaranteeing DeShaun Watsons contract has. I can't remember anyone in the NFL getting a fully guaranteed deal before.
I wonder if players will start demanding that?
ND is next Saturday. What I usually do is the week after somebody drops a YouTube video where you can watch the whole thing in like 20-25 minutes. I’m interested in seeing what Buchner and Pyne have at QB.Im not a big fan of spring games.

Yep! And now they open 2022 with each other. Man, you guys have owned the Irish in my lifetime. They haven’t played much but I think OSU is undefeated.I feel like ND/OSU was where you and I had our most interactions back on Rivals lol
Me either. I watched 5 mins of it so far but then I saw the Haskins tribute video which made it worth it this yearIm not a big fan of spring games.

That should be a given in life. If you’re caught holding the bag, the man with real shit to lose gets to pass the bag to the hangers on. Like…that’s the job of the posse, bro.
I don't mind players holding out and using their leverage (if they have any)...especially in the NFL for reasons you gave.Eh.. my issue is that people tend to hold it against a player when they hold out but don't see any problem with the team releasing him.
That's their only leverage since contracts are not guaranteed. Now someone like Watson holding out immediately after signing an extension is ridiculous. But in this case I can see it being warranted.
I think Cousins did but was only 2-3 years. It's how it works. That's why when a player signs a big contract, one of the first questions asked is "How much is guaranteed?" because there's a solid chance that the guaranteed money is all the player will get.

And the player gets some guaranteed money paid in advance to compensate.I don't mind players holding out and using their leverage (if they have any)...especially in the NFL for reasons you gave.
But is true releasing a player and not paying is part of the agreed upon CBA.
Not sure anyone said it's a bad thing but it is, in fact, not honoring his contract and a team releasing a player is still allowed under terms of the contract. He is using his leverage to threaten a hold out.
Trying to say that is a bad thing is crazy.
If he sits out the season?
Then maybe you have a point. Threatening to do so though is how the game is played.
No issue with him holding out if he thinks that's best. Question is will he blink?Because this is the way he maximizes his revenue. Why play for 14 mil a year when you can negotiate for 45 mil? You get the bag when you can. Isn’t that what we all do in our walks of life? We want to maximize our income and get paid relative to our value.
