We better be up to the cap this year. If we can’t get there with free agents and draft picks, then we need to start restructuring deals to create more cap in the future.
I haven't seen any updated numbers, but my guess is we're still above the cap, somewhere in the +20-30mil range.

Yeah, that's another option...Use the cap to sign long-term some of our guys.

...then we extend Braxton and you freak out. LOL

I mean more along the lines of giving Montez sweat more of his money this year, so we can use the extra cap next year. It’s way too early to resign Braxton jones. It is something simple you can do to help the team and the players would be financially irresponsible to say no.

Jones is in essence a rental player, altho I'll equate his situation more to a one year-prove it approach. He's got a lot to show he deserves an extension. Make no mistake, the Bears are going to draft a tackle next month, with the only question being which of their picks they'll use on it.

Yeah, we need to be looking for his replacement, although, Kiran was drafted last year. Maybe they have a plan for him to take over at LT. I’m not going to judge him on his performance last year given his injury situation.

Personally, I want Campbell. I think he can come in and contribute. He might even win the LT spot this year. If he’s not there, I would be content going DL-DL-DL with our first three picks. That’s what I think this draft will be seen as excelling in several years down the road.

Now that we got our o-lineman,and with 3 picks in the first 41,I have this feeling that our first pick is gonna be Jeanty.....

That would leave both our 2nds for an o-lineman and d-lineman.....

I would agree if it wasn't for the Raiders drafting 6th. Just about every analyst and pundit in the football world has them taking Jeanty.

pretty sure Poles expected Kiran to compete enough with Jones in preseason to beat him out for the job. He was never healthy enough to do it. Then he showed how far he was from winning that job when he got to play.

I am hoping they deal the mistake from last year at RB in swift and hopefully have Roschon clear of his concussion problems. I really liked Ian Wheeler last preseason and think he has a shot to be good if he gets a chance. So Jeanty at 10 with those 2 is a possibility since those top DE's are all OLB.

True.......

But then again, after Atlanta signing Cousins last season, who would have thought Penix was gonna be their pick.....
Getting Smith could be a bridge qb till Ward or Sanders is ready.....( of course if they are available.....)

I need to go back and revisit the top 10 draft order again.....

Nevermind.....Sanders and Ward should be gone by the time LV drafts.....

The problem with Kiran last year could be that he was hurt and thrown into the fire as a rookie. If he gets an opportunity next year, I think he starts to look a lot better.

Pretty much everyone had the Raiders taking a QB with their pick - that is, until they traded for Geno Smith. That's why the focus has shifted to them taking Jeanty.
And FWIW, even if the Raiders weren't all in on Jeanty, there were also growing murmurs that the Cowboys would trade down in front of the Bears to take him.

I could be the Ryan Pace strategy of signing Glennon just to trick the NFL he was not going after a quarterback, just to trade up to get Mitch.
I dont know about the rest of people, but I highly doubt Brady will be eager to go after a top pick QB that will be expecting 60 million in a few years.

Have to say with all these signings, I'm a bit surprised that Josh Sweat's name hasn't been included yet. Maybe he's getting a bunch of offers and simply weighing all the options.

I had to open my big mouth. Josh Sweat to sign with the Cardinals, 4/76.4.
Bummer.

Dayo is a good depth guy. Not good if we were counting on him to be the every down starter...but I doubt we are.
