He isn’t better than Goff.

Probably comparable to Darnold at the time this all went down. Certainly not today.

But all the other guys you listed are young players or rookie players still trying to prove themselves. They will either be able to do that, or they will be holding clipboards but the time their rookie deals are up.

And if any of them become backups and make themselves a distraction...they will be out of the league too.

At 29 years old, Kaepeenick
Zach Wilson
Daniel Jones
Jalen Hurts
Justin Fields
Jared Goff
Drew Lock
Sam Darnold
Fields and Wilson are literally in their second years in the NFL. Hurts is in his 3rd, and he'll likely be relegated to backup status. Even then, Kaep is not that much better than him (when he was in his prime). I'd say the same for Goff as well.

The only ones from his list I can potentially agree with (when Kaep was 29) is Lock and Daniel Jones.

If that's your criteria for getting Kaepernick back into the league, then you're arguing against yourself. And this is a guy who in his last year, wasn't exactly elite and moving the needle. It's been 6 years since he last played an NFL game. It's possible he's not better than any player you mentioned on this list today.

You put it better than me. I dropped my coffee when I saw Goff on the list.

Yeah and like you said.

Drew Lock wasn’t even a starter. He started games because Bridgewater got hurt.

And even then, he was a pretty poor option as a backup.

If Drew Lock is a starting QB, then it is for a team tanking to try and draft their QB next season.

Lock will most likely be Seattle's starter.

Yeah, that's it. He was already a backup when this shit started. You made a statement that was complete bullshit and want to double down on it. Just admit it and move on.

These things happen:

Kaepernik has turned down 1 offer from the Broncos and lost another offer from the Ravens when his girlfriend sent out a tweet calling them slave owners.

When the NFL set up a tryout for him, he changed the venue to one 45 minutes away at the 11th hour and then complained about the low turnout.

But yeah, tell us more about how ''unfair'' it all is.

My opinion has been stated and is not changing. I am however done arguing against this brick wall.

Lock will most likely be Seattle's starter.

That will be a disaster. The only reason to do that would be to tank because they think they can get a franchise QB in the next draft.

I hear that they may try to get Mayfield. I wouldn't hate that.

Seattle is going to want Cleveland to eat most of his contract or a good portion for that to happen.

And like I said.

If that is the case, it will be for 1 year.

And Seattle will be drafting a QB either this year or next.

Lock is not a starting QB. He is a placeholder.

That seems likely to be the case wherever he goes.

It will interesting to see if it happens. I think he could work pretty well with the run oriented, play defense style that Carroll likes. That is basically how the Browns played the year they went to the playoffs with him.

And Seattle's in full rebuild now. They're in evaluation mode - it's better to go with Lock, who's 25 and see what you have with him. He's either going to be their long term answer, or he's going to suck and they're going to be in a top 5 spot for a QB that they can rebuild around.

They're not going to go with Kaepernick where he *maybe* might win them a couple more games at best; more than likely, won't even be better than Lock at this point.

Kaepernick wasn't some elite talent, he was an average NFL starting QB.

I might gamble on mayfield, does Seattle have any deals they want to move?

Never said he should be starting. I just listed the starters since you asked me to.

Well, you're arguing that Kaepernick should be in the league right now given that he's the starter. Tlance brought up Denver's situation and you brought up Lock's the starter in Seattle (for the time being). And again, I argue that Kaepernick, since he hasn't played in 6 years is likely not better than anyone on the list. That's a long layoff from football, and Kaepernick wasn't elite when he was in the league.

well that's a shock. According to Jeff Passan, the Tribe has signed Jose Ramirez to a 5 year, $125 mil extension.

still does nothing to make us better but a good deal and helps especially if the team is sold.

Would certainly be a worthy gamble. Mayfield has talent, he's probably not the right fit. Cleveland's a town that you don't turn on, Baker did that. Best for him to move on.

I'm sure he will if someone makes a decent offer. But I doubt they give him away unless under our terms.

Man, MLB salaries are still exploding despite the fact that attendance nation wide is down. Those TV contracts must be better than I realized.
