This is accurate. Can we say that the Chiefs are the runaway now in that division? I'd say favorite, but not runaway like Buffalo is.

Also, the West also has to play each other, twice. Same with the North. I wouldn't be surprised if the Phins end up 9-7, 10-6. That relies heavily on McDaniel and how he translates; as well as how he works with Tua. Like I said earlier in this thread, we'll know if Tua's legit now. Upgraded OL, RB, and now you've added a top 5 WR in Hill to an incredible talent in Waddle. Tua's out of excuses.
10-7, but I totally agree...

I also agree with the assessment that up to three teams can come outta the West for the playoffs...

Be interesting to see how this plays out.

Looks like a “Patriot style move” to me.

They trade the elite asset for a haul before he gets paid and before he regresses.

Then they use the draft picks to stack younger, cheaper depth.

Usually these types of deals don’t play well for the team acquiring the high prices star. We shall see how much it hurts KC in the short term.
Certainly possible. Feel like this will be completely accurate, or completely wrong with no in-between.

Do me a favor though. Look through recent NFL history and see if you can find a trade where a team acquired a high priced non QB skill position player like this for multiple high picks AND also made their team significantly better.

There might be a couple out there, but I sure can’t think of one.

Can think of plenty that went wrong like OBJ, Hershel Walker, etc.

I think Hill will work out. I’m more concerned about the LT we got staying healthy. But I agree with the dolphins trying to get a proven commodity at the position since our GM can’t draft a quality OL.

I think it's that plus it being a WR who wants QB money with a QB already making high end QB money.

Again, we will see.

WR whose game is built around blinding speed?

What happens when he loses some of it?

Because that has probably already started to happen. Just a matter of how much speed he can stand to lose and still be elite.

I have my doubts.

Was always wondering how they were going to pay everyone.

Guess we have our answer.

Are you talking about Hill? I'm going to disagree completely on that.
He is one dimensional. Really good at that one dimension but i like receivers who aren't one dimensional

I cannot think of one either. Only one I can think of that went for multiple high picks was Mack and while their D got better they didn't go anywhere. Cannot think of many WRs that went for multiple high picks...at least not lately. Especially if already making big bucks. Maybe Keyshawn did but too lazy to look.

Also consider Tua doesn't have Mahomes' arm strength, especially deep. So I'd guess he'd better get a lotta RAC...

Are you concerned at all about how Mahomes looked last year at times? I didn’t watch all his games but I saw more bad passes than I had seen in the rest of his career in the games I did watch. Just curious what the issue might have been.

He's a tremendous talent for sure, but I really thought his weapons and Reid did not get enough credit.

Lotta teams were throwing 2 deep safety looks at him. Also a lot of impatience on his part. Keep in my they also had rookies on their O-line, so a combination of things...

Honestly I think Mahomes may have learned a lot last season about being patient. We'll see...

Axe had to fall somewhere...

I was shocked when I heard the news today, but after more thought this makes a ton of sense for KC.

Mahomes is the #1 investment. Protecting him should be priority 2.

Yeah, you need a couple playmakers. But quality depth is more important than any 1 skill player.

This is a long term move.
