Seems like a really weird case, imo.

I have a very difficult time believing that 22 women got together and decided to try to get a bunch of money from him with false accusations and lawsuits.

On the other hand, it seems odd that there are 22 accusers and they couldn't come up with enough evidence to go to trial.

I was born in Northern Ohio and spent a few decades there.
I drifted away from the NFL in the last few years and I was never a big Browns fan.

That said, I think diehard Browns fans are in a tough spot.
Deshaun Watson gives real hope to a passionate fanbase that is due for a little success.

QB's are crucial to NFL success and Cleveland is where QB's go to die.
Now they have a stud...and a chance to contend for years.

I can't blame fans who won't stomach Watson and back off their fandom.
But I also can't blame fans who just wanna watch some winning Browns football without having to justify their morality.

I definitely cannot blame someone for feeling how they feel.

I don't live in Ohio anymore but I keep in touch and frequent some fan sites.

There's a small % that say they're done with the Browns. They acknowledge that its an NFL wide issue but they say they just can't root for a team that seeks out a sexual offender to be the face of the franchise.

There's a small % on the other side that says they don't give one shit what a player does off the field. Winning is all that matters. If he brings us deep playoff runs, I'll be on cloud nine and wear his jersey. Every team has a couple scumbags.

The vast majority fall into the middle. They will still root for the Browns , at least for now.
I see this group divided into about 3 sub-catagories:

1) I Can Be A Browns Fan And Not A Watson Fan---
I won't buy Watson jerseys or root for him but I'll root for my team.

2) Wait And See On The Proof---
Not sure of Watson's guilt. If more info comes out in the civil cases that prove guilt, Browns have to dump Watson or I will quit being a Browns fan.

3) Wait And See On Watson---
Everyone deserves a 2nd chance. Watson needs to stay out of trouble, donate to women's causes, make amends, etc. Otherwise, Browns need to dump him or I will stop supporting team until they do.

There is a general feeling that, right or wrong, in the NFL, 'Winning covers a multitude of sins'.

Certainly possible the atty just contacted everyone who had Watson as a client at any time and said, "hey, has he ever done anything inappropriate to you? Might be a lot of money in it for you if he did."

Will say the no evidence thing does not mean he didn't do it, of course. would imagine often hard to have evidence in a he said she said...even 22 of them.

Can’t even say there was no evidence, just that it wasn’t enough to be indicted.

I don’t want to get too political here but this is a product of the nature of a sexual assault charge. It’s often going to come down to a he said she said sort of thing. Overall, innocent until proven guilty is the best standard to employ but on this particular crime we have a blind spot (they exist in every system). Very few accusations of sexual assault will even result in charges let alone convictions. That’s why r*pe is one of the most under-reported crimes in America and I don’t blame a victim. She’s going to be raked over the coals for an unlikely outcome to begin with.

I will have to find it- but I saw something where out of the 9 accusers that were based on the grand jury- 6 of them bragged about how much money they would make in their civil suites. All of them deleted their texts/social media - and 5 of them texted Watson afterwards saying how much they enjoyed working with him and said they hoped he would hire them again

saints did a good job getting under the cap- and their is a certain amount of cap maniuplation you can always do--- but at some point its just rolling over the problem from one year to the next to the next. You can get away with it for a while- but at some point its like an avalanche- the bill becomes due---- I guess the idea is you hope the bill becomes due when its time to rebuild.\

at least the Falcons and Panthers still suck- and Tampa is getting in that same predicament- pushing cap issues off into the future that will eventually come due.

The NFC West is good- but the rest of the NFC is very very mediocre

id rank the divisions in the NFL as:

1. AFC West: Easily the best
2. AFC North: Bengals, Ravens, Browns with Watson--- Steelers QB sucks but rest of team is pretty good
3. NFC West (them and the AFC North are very close- 49'ers QB and Cardinals falling apart put them here for me)
4. AFC East- Bills are awesome- Pats are pretty good, Dolphins pretty good- Jets suck
5. AFC South- Colts and Titans are good- could be above the East but Bills are just too good
6. NFC South- Bucs are good. Saints should be solid
7. NFC North: Packers still good for now. Vikings arent bad
8. NFC East: Cowboys and ick.
