How's your o-line?

Pete is gonna want a strong run game, so you'll need a solid o-line. If you get Russ or Darnold you'll need a solid o-line because Russ doesn't have the mobility that he used to and Darnold gets "sped up" when he has to face a lot of pressure and his accuracy suffers.
It was fine 2 seasons ago but it regressed this past season....need to tweak it.....mainly the right side. Thayer Munford is not a good RT. The rookie JPJ came on strong at the end of the season but his 1st season was a bit rocky.

That's a main issue....we also gotta dump Zamir White.....if we keep Mattison he's a backup. Abdullah is a good receiver out of the backfield/3rd down back.

You think at his age Carroll would want a vet QB or maybe trade up and get a rookie in this draft? At 74 I gotta think he would want to sign a vet in the offseason.

I am sure he is already working after a year off basically.....I know he was still doing something with the Seahawks but we all know it was a year off....he probably glad to be back at it.....he strikes me as a coaching lifer.

Only in OSU and MSU fans eyes.
It's on the books and we were 15-0.
Didn't lose to an unranked team and even won the BIG title as well.

Let's settle it on the field. Oh, wait. They did. 13-10
cool.....but we played a lot longer after that on the field to settle things.

Yup. We had a down year and only had to show Alabama they really didn’t belong in the playoffs.
And we still beat the non conference winning national champs.

Agree he's likely to want a vet QB at least for a season or 2. The QB draft this year seems pretty meh. Most seem to think Shedeur Sanders is the top QB and he likely slips to the 2nd round if he was in last years draft.

One thing we know about Pete...if they have a vet QB and a rookie he thinks will be better...he'll go with the rookie like he did in Seattle when he went with Wilson over the recently signed Matt Flynn.

I think they go get a vet FA QB and roll with AOC as the backup.....they can save like 6.3 mill towards the cap if they released Minshew.....even more $ to go get some groceries in the FA period so Carroll can cook in the kitchen next season.

I also wouldn't mind trading for Metcalf or Lockett if the Seahawks were in agreement.

As long as they were being reasonable of course. :D

Down year? It is more likely the opposite. 3 double digit win seasons in a row. They had 5 the previous 17 seasons before that.

In that same time frame (20 seasons), Ohio St only had 3 seasons where they didn’t have double digit win seasons. One was covid year (7-1) and one was the year they had the bowl ban and suspended players.

The difference in the two programs is night and day.

Forgot where I heard it.....Remember'ed just now......RW was talking highly of Carroll on McAfee recently.

If you connect the dots.....

They did lose their way when they hired Rich Rod and then Hoke. Still have the most wins in college football. Must feel bad to keep losing to a team that you feel so superior to.
13-10

See you in November

Early on in my Japan trip 2 things stand out. I haven’t seen customer service like this anywhere, ever. Second, I haven’t seen a single piece of trash laying anywhere. It might be scary living in fear of Godzilla but so far I don’t see much not to like.

Late Friday night newsdump. Jerry knows its a stupid move and he's trying to hide from the backlash

Man.

What is wrong with Jerry Jones?

Chances of this working are very low.

When Cowboys were winning super bowls, he had leader of men coaches at the helm. Why go away from that?

There has been a corresponding decrease in success when Jones had gone with these yes men types.
