That isn’t changing a thing. League wants to protect players, especially QBs. Officials erring on the side of soft roughing penalties is not a problem in the eyes of the league.

I’m already seeing people saying replay is going to be used more on those calls. The baiting going out of bounds is going to be looked at as well. Mahomes won’t make it to week 4 if it isn’t. When you have this number of people talking about it something is going to happen. Never seen in game announcers so united on so many things. It will be addressed.

I don’t disagree that it was a bad or soft call.

What I disagree with is all the rage about it being egregious. I have seen that call made plenty of times in other games with other QBs.

I would say 1/4 ref is flagging that type of contact on a late slide.
