You think any fans still want Watson?
There are still some in Browns forums I'm in that cannot get themselves to admit the move did not work out. These are mostly extreme Baker critics, as well, and cannot admit he has become at worse a decent NFL QB.

But I doubt many reasonable fans still want him.......that said, I still would not cut him yet and pay him a crazy amount to play elsewhere. Especially when possible could miss next season and get cap relief.

I’m really not certain Watson would play anywhere else at this point.

It's the Browns....not only will he play elsewhere but he will play well somewhere. Many ripping the Browns for acquiring him will then rip them for letting him go.

All seriousness, are you thinking he wont play elsewhere because he will call it quits? Wont ever come back from latest injury? Just no one will even give him a shot?

Stay away from Joe Brady please. I hope QB coach Ronald Curry has been studying up, he might get promoted if/when Brady gets signed away.

I don't know why these in-season interviews are allowed. Distracting from the job at hand.
Yup it's fucked up. Cost the Eagles a Super Bowl when Jonathan Gannon quit on the team and went to be head coach of the Cardinals. Gannon didn't prepare for the game - just his coaching interview - and Andy Reid snookered him with the same play over and over.

With his baggage you better be playing better than he is to get another shot.

The fact he took out insurance on himself helps the Browns A LOT. They can restructure his contract, put in a dummy year and gain over $60M the next 2 years total. Even if the contract is so bad, the Browns still thought ahead and had a plan to work around if shit hit the fan. It hit it hard

Happen to believe Berry when he says we wont be hindered in FA if there are guys we want.

Whatever one thinks of him and Depodesta they are really good with the cap.

They came up with an NBA typer move to acquire a high pick and Osweiler bad contract.....maybe they can figure out a way to do a buyout all parties agree on?

It's tough. Hard to pass on a QB when you're in position like this, but are this year's options good enough value for the pick?
On that I agree 100%. Cannot take a QB just to take one......but also cannot care what media or fans think about the QBs.

I just worry about the draft with Berry and his ability to evaluate talent at QB and key positions. I know he didn’t have 1st’s but that was bc of the Watson deal. This year will be a big year for him and this FO. Cap geniuses without a doubt.

No doubt needs to prove more, but way some fans talk about him you'd think Wills and/or Newsome are Justin Gilbert/Manziel.

At worse he's been OK in the draft....and, yes, only talking about draft. Watson deal a disaster no matter who wanted it (I think more FO) but did in fact leave them without high picks for a while.

Based on where guys were taken cannot think of any awful picks. Maybe Wills but he was all rookie and at least serviceable until he started getting hurt. Worthy of picking up option.

Schwartz might be worse pick but 3rd rounders are crapshoot at best.
