For a conditional 2006 3rd round. Wish the Rams would've considered that...The Jets got Reddick from the Eagles.

Do I need to point out that the PAC 12 ceased to exist because of their stupid start times?
Sooo you’re saying watch outGonzaga’s gonna have everyone but watson back next year
Absolutely insane (although I believe watson is their best defender)
Plus they landed a top 10 transfer already on the wing
That's not true.
Sooo you’re saying watch out
TV contracts are generated by eyeballs. The value of said contracts come from said eyeballs.
The PAC didn't have decidedly worse ball than the ACC. It had half their games starting at 1030 PM instead of 330 on a saturday.
80 percent of our population is east of the Mississippi
Yet our TV schedule for sports is geared to the 10 percent on the furthest coast left.
Good business model!
The 2 most populous states are west of the Mississippi Texas and California.
They also have more professional sports franchises than other states.
California, for example, has 10 professional teams just between the NFL, NBA and MLB.

Maybe Coztanza is the traveling secretary again lol
The PAC could have been at the front of all this a decade ago by being proactive with OU and Texas. Bring along a couple others including Okie light and I think a deal could have happened. Word was the academic people put their noses up in the air and killed it. Just what was reported around here. That's not what killed the PAC-12. The PAC had tv contracts that were initially offered to them that could have kept the conference together. They weren't going to get what the SEC or B1G got, but it would have been more than Big 12 or ACC. The idiot commissioner listened to an idiot professor from Stanford who convinced him that the PAC should get far more than was offered.
The biggest problem was the PAC Network was incredibly poorly run. They could have partnered with ESPN or Fox, but instead decided to be a standalone and couldn't get the deals with satellite and cable companies they thought they'd get.
Also, there was a shit ton of wasted money. The PAC had the most expensive offices in all of college sports and the idiot commissioner didn't grasp that football pays the bills but chose to promote and put money into "Olympic sports". That's where "The Conference of Champions" bullshit came from...the PAC was winning championships...just not in sports that anyone gave a shit about.
17m per for 1 year of production after 3 meh seasonsThat’s a steep price when they could’ve just…paid their own guy (huff)
Texas is mostly central time zone so that is almost a non issue.
Yes..California has a lot of population for one state. Therefore they have lots of franchises.
It's still stupid to gear TV scheduling around California.

Yeah I can’t remember if the Longhorn network was a thing yet but it probably was. Speaking of the longhorn network the countdown is on, it dies right before football season. That's pretty accurate. Academic people were against it and, if memory serves, they didn't want Texas bringing the Longhorn Network either. That may have actually been the beginning of the end, but no one saw it at the time.
A lot of folks, myself included, were pissed when the PAC fucked up that deal.
