He dead.
Exactly. They lean on an offensive line and running game in a league where just about everybody now throws like 60-65% of the time.
Carr is closer to being a top 10 QB than Mayfield.I'm laughing at the whole thing. I'm no real fan of Mayfield's. Ask any Browns fan in this thread. I only made that comment in hopes it would rile someone up. He's not a top 10 QB.

And I think Carr is just outside the top 10.
I agree he played better last season but also want to see him perform better this season also. Before I'd ever say he's a top 10 QB he needs to have multiple successful seasons. What he did last season doesn't put him in the top 10. But under Stephanski he looked like a different (and better) QB than his first two seasons.

I think Carr is a little better. They're basically on the same level.
Carr has performed at a high level for multiple years so he has the edge IMO.I totally agree with you. He needs to back his production up from last year.
Ha! Ya got me.I'm laughing at the whole thing. I'm no real fan of Mayfield's. Ask any Browns fan in this thread. I only made that comment in hopes it would rile someone up. He's not a top 10 QB.
Look. Please decide what you want to use as your rules.....no matter what you want it's cool, but stick to your rules. and by your most recent rules, AR and Big Ben were game managers in the seasons in question. You’re talking about players who have also played in offenses where they were asked to throw the ball some 35-40 times a game. And no, it’s not “all it takes”. This is what? The 6th or 7th piece of evidence provided in this discussion?
They run a lot because they are good at it. Like nearly any team with any QB would do.Exactly. They lean on an offensive line and running game in a league where just about everybody now throws like 60-65% of the time.
The thing I don't get with Baker is why he's held to a different standard than other QB's. For example, he had a great rookie year, bad year 2 (with arguably the worst HC ever), and he's been really good ever since. Herbert has a great rookie year and people immediately want to put him in the HOF. Allen was nowhere near as good as Baker his rookie year, and he was just fair his 2nd year. Then he explodes year 3 and he's instantly in the top 5 elite category. He stunk week 1 as well, so he's been fair to bad way more than elite. I guess with Allen, he's improved each year, so I do see at least part of the difference, but he's also had stability in coaching/scheme, etc. It just seems like with Baker, no matter what he does he's never viewed as elite, even in an age where everything is what have you done lately (and he was elite 2nd half of last season).I agree he played better last season but also want to see him perform better this season also.
So same basically.....LOL.
he threw for 320 yards and completed 75% of his passes last game. If he keeps that up it wont be close. He was easily a top 10- statistically top 5 QB the last 8 games of last season once he learned the offense and got comfortable with it. What was he? like 16-3 TD to interception the last 8 games and had a QBR #2 to Rodgers the last 8 games?Fair point. Can call him all the things he's not - game manager, one read QB, etc - and if he plays well enough to be a top 10 QB or better we should have a very good season.
Josh Allen had 1 HC and 1 OC his entire career...if he didn't he would probably still be garbage (lets just be real he had a remarkable turnaround-nfl history remarkable). The thing I don't get with Baker is why he's held to a different standard than other QB's. Smart.I heard yesterday, that in a poll of NFL execs, they had Carr ranked ahead of Baker. They didn't say how far apart they had them, just that Carr was ranked ahead of him.
