@bksballer89 a few picks

Oregon St -1.5 over Washington (lots of metrics on this one, as shown by the line)
OU -24 @ BYU
NC +7.5 @ Clemson
USC -5.5 over UCLA
Nebraska +5.5 @ Wisconsin
Iowa St +7.5 vs Texas
Steelers ML vs Browns (Tomlin is 29-5 against backup qbs)

Signed up for the new espn betting app a few days ago and after your first bet, they give you $200 in free bets ( 4 $50 bets) so I used one of my bets on most of these

Settled on the following

Oklahoma -20 ( moved the line a bit)
NC + 7.5
Got cold feet about USC so did ML instead of spread
Added Georgia ML
Nebraska +6
Oregon State -1
Iowa State + 7.5

$50 bet gets me $1765

Michael Vick used to get the same can't read defenses tag when he committed a TO. And being a running QB....

But, people will DENY it. LOL.

Every young QB who comes into the league has to learn to read defenses at an NFL level. That is why so many of them tend to turn the ball over a lot early in their careers. Peyton Manning averaged 20 picks a season for his first 5 years in the league because he was learning to read defenses at an NFL level.

If a QB doesn't learn to read defenses and continues to turn the ball over as his career progresses, then it's going to be pointed out. It's not just black QB's who have that said about them and it's not just white commentators saying it. I've seen and heard Emmanuel Acho, Marcellus Wiley, Joy Taylor among others say that about Dak and Hurts...are they racist?

QB's who can/do use their legs a lot often times take longer to read defenses because they can use their legs to bail themselves and their team out of tough situations. I remember folks saying Sam Darnold needed to learn to read defenses when he was coming out of USC and during the disaster that was his years with the Jets...was that racist?

People say that QB's who use their legs a lot need to learn to read defenses so that they can have longer careers. Cam Newtons career is over and his body is basically broken because of all of the running he did.

If a black QB needs to learn to read defenses, do you not want it pointed out because it's somehow "racist" and just let them take the beating Cam Newton took?

You need to learn that every criticism of a black QB isn't racist and isn't because he's black.

Someone else pointed out several black QB's who don't have that said about them...wanna guess why that hasn't been said about them?

In short, stop buying into and repeating race baiting bullshit. It makes you look stupid.

Did you even listen to this?!?!? Part of the guy’s argument is that Cleveland hasn’t even gotten good QB play so that’s why they’re a contender. Da fuq are you linking for me? They then go on to say that essentially nothing about the AFC is impressive so why not them. That’s a Super Bowl contender? Your evidence is as lame as the Browns.

Hold tightly to your delusions.
I did listen and it proved you wrong......and don't forget in our hypothetical we have a healthy Watson and Chubb.

you were wrong........wont own you were wrong.

Nope. Not wrong at all. There’s nothing even “contenderish” about the Browns. They’re the Browns.

6-3 in the toughest division in football is certainly contenderish and others have agreed (even though you say no one did). Never mind they even agreed with us not having Chubb and in our discussion Chubb would be playing.

But, sure, a 6-3 team and 31-27 is the same team that had recently had a 1-31 and 4-44 stretch. That's as absurd as lumping them in with the Paul Brown era Browns.

Record has little to do with being a contender. It’s about how a team matches up with the best teams. The Browns have a plus defense but they don’t have the offense to make them a true contender. This is why you’re delusional.

RBs have little value in the NFL. They’ve gotten similar product in out of his replacements. You are making way too much of this injury because it’s a ready made excuse and that’s the corner stone of your argument, playing shoulda coulda woulda. It’s the NFL. My team won with a back up QB when the starter was on a pace to win MVP of the league. All you have is excuses to fuel your delusion.

All you’ve established here is that instead of God awful the Browns are average and mediocre.

A Pro Tip: when trying to argue that your team is a contender don’t cite the mediocrity of 31-27.

And you can have the last word. The Browns are the epitome of irrelevant. College football, NFL football, etc… is too big this time of year for this thread to get mucked up with talk about an irrelevant team.
