This stuff cracks me up, of course they are “leaning” that way right now, that’s the only way they find out what it’s worth. Honestly the Bears are in a tough spot, Fields showed a lot last year when healthy.

Fields showing a lot is good for trade value too. Trading for Fields would likely be cheaper than the #1 spot and he'd be ready sooner. I just think the ceiling is higher with Bryce. He's like a mini-Mahomes of sorts.

They should take Bryce Young and trade Fields. More of a sure thing IMO.

How is Young more of a sure thing?

I ask because I have yet to see anyone call him a can't miss # 1 pick. If he was being called that then hell yeah draft him # 1. But that's not the case.

And drafting an unproven rookie won't fix all the other problems the Bears have on the offensive side of the ball. Trading outta that # 1 spot would let them address some other issues.

McShay said earlier today that Young is only 5’10 and weighs less than 200 pounds. This will impact his draft stock. Young is a solid prospect. He’s not a “can’t miss” prospect. Can’t believe Mahomes name was invoked.

The only ding on Young is his size IMO. If they're not comfortable with that, that's their call.

They're 2 years done on Fields rookie contract so far and the offense is still a disaster (as is the defense really). They can re-set the QB clock as they continue to build up both sides of the ball.

Watch him play. Not equating, comparing. It's in the way he extends plays, runs under control without getting hit, etc.

I have. I have seen a successful collegiate QB with the best talent in the country around him. He’s by no means a can’t miss prospect.

Damn he's short for a QB, thought he was taller for some reason. And being compared to Mahomes? Just crazy.

Can’t miss isn’t a guarantee statement.
Oh ok, guess I don’t understand all the nuances of words then. I know what you are saying, can’t miss means less likely to bust than most, like I said.

Fields isn't the Bears main problem on offense. And Young isn't a can't miss # 1 pick.

And if we’re being honest, whether it’s Fields or Young, the Bears are likely to ruin the kid.

No doubt. And I'm not trying to say JF is good. But he needs some help.

Two seasons. Two HC's. And two systems. That's not good for any QB.

Yep he has a lot of great traits and he could end up being a franchise QB but he isn't Burrow or Luck. To me that is the definition of a "can't miss" prospect. That size will definitely hurt him. Kyler had a couple nice years but regressed. I will say throwing wise Young seems to be much better, he doesn't have near the athleticism and speed as Kyler as a runner. I think Young is a better prospect than Stroud but not to the level of "can't miss".
