Vikings schedule really lightens up late because their division is garbage. If they don’t lose today, I don’t see where they can take another loss. Eagles need home field to accomplish their goals. They’re technically tied now but Eagles won head to head in week 2

Yeah.

I think Philly loses at least 2 more games with how tough the division is.

But, Minnesota plays 1 possession games with everybody.

So they can easily drop a couple too.

Speculation the loser of OSU vs Michigan could still get in.

Don't think the loser of Michigan/ ohio state is out

That's part of why it would get interesting.

You'd have a 1 loss, Non-Conference Champ in Michigan or tOSU up against a 1 loss Conference Champ in USC.

Imagine the chaos if LSU upsets Georgia. You could have 1 loss non-Conference Champ, but defending National Champ Georgia, 1 loss Conference Champ USC, 1 loss non-Conference Champ Michigan or tOSU and 2 loss SEC Champ LSU fighting for 2 spots. lol

LSU won't beat UGA imo. UGA was looking past a scrappy Kentucky team.

Stoops has done a really good job coaching there.

I've long been a believer that a conf champion should get the nod in 1 loss to 1 loss comps in most circumstances. Clemson this year may be an exception with how shitty the ACC is. USC running the table with UCLA, ND and Oregon would earn them a spot imo. I was just saying that OSU and UM are right there if TCU or USC falters.

LSU beating Georgia is the other wild card. I hope Georgia wins. Tired of the SEC getting 2 bids.

If USC loses either of their next 2 games, they're out.

tOSU/UM will open a spot for someone.

If LSU beats Georgia, they'll fill that spot and it will come down to how far the committee drops Georgia.

My guess is, they won't drop a 1 loss, defending National Champion out of the top 4.

If TCU loses 1 and USC wins out...then it will get really interesting.
Can you imagine if TCU and Michigan hadn’t pulled out their games yesterday?

I'm not so sure they shouldn't get in over the PAC champ either.

Losing to another top 4 team is a tough disqualifier for sure.

Hopefully this year makes the BIG wake up and get rid of divisions. You could make a decent argument that the 4 best teams are in the east. We'd be looking at back to back OSU and UM games.

Maybe so, but they weren’t bad Monday night
Because they were asked to run block. In the first matchup they gave up 9 sacks vs mostly a 4 man rush.

If USC runs the table, Clemson gets eliminated. 4 loss ND would have beaten ACC champ Clemson and ACC runner up North Carolina. That would be used to conclude PAC 12 champ > ACC champ. I believe it would be the only common opponent.

Honestly, this is the case more years than not in the B10. The teams in the East can actually recruit. A top 40 class for a Minnesota Iowa Wisconsin etc…is a real coup. Tip of the cap to those programs for the success they attain with 3 star grinders that are an after thought at the big programs but it’s why the winner of the B10 East almost always wins the B10.

Without question.

It is of note that the computers don't like USC much either. Both Clemson and USC are ranked behind multiple 2 loss teams

Most years I’m meh on the PAC 12 but this year I think they have 5 solid squads in USC UCLA Washington Oregon and Utah.

Yep. Really only Wisconsin has put together anything of note in the last 15 to 20 years. Iowa has had some spots but it's always fleeting. None of them have built a consistent winner. Except Wisconsin.

Adding USC and UCLA would help that. Oregon also. The PAC teams would likely dominate the west if that comes to be.

And how much of that Wisconsin success comes as a product of being the tallest midget in the B10 West?

Yeah, the PAC did away with divisions this year for that reason.

Having the 2 best teams adds to the strength of schedule argument.

Personally, I hate conference championship games.

Seems like there are too many seasons where the 2 or 3 best teams are in one division, which leads to blowouts...

Or, with no divisions, you can get a re-match, which is usually won by the team that lost the first game...so a team loses out on a conference championship and possible playoff because they lost the wrong game.

Definitely something to that.

We are closing in on a decade straight of East beating west.

West has never won a CCG under the current format.

Trojans 38, Fighting Irish 28...:D
38 vs ND good luck. They only get one week to prepare for you so that should help but they are playing like the #1 defense in the nation. Now lets see how they play against an elite offense

ND hasn’t seen an offense or a QB this talented since week 1 vs OSU. It’s gonna be a big challenge. The magic number is 28. If ND can hold them to that number they have a chance because of USC’s defense. Drew Pyne is the X factor. They can’t hide him. They can lean on the running game but you need your QB to have drives end in 7 and not 3. That leaves me very skittish because Drew Pyne is garbage.
