True.
On the other hand, sometimes you know after 1 year, which is why I think if they finish strong, it will help.
I see it as similar to when the Browns had Kitchens. It was pretty clear after 1 season that he wasn't the guy, so they cut him loose.
Initially, it is a bad look. However, winning fixes everything. If they don't think Venables is the guy after 1 season and the next guy comes in and starts winning...no one will care about what happened to Venables.
A worse look for OU, imo, would be to not fire Venables, see Rhule go to Nebraska, ASU or someplace else, start winning and now they're stuck with Venables when they could have had Rhule.
Honestly I’m more worried about this offensive coordinator than anything, no one can be this bad. He looks and acts like he is still at Baylor, UCF or Ole Miss. He is going to figure out quickly he is not. Venables has to straighten this out and he will be given the opportunity. That doesn’t mean that Castiglione isn’t watching the situation closely. Lebby has to go I’m afraid, looks like he was propped up by some people. Kiffen at Ole Miss, Heuple at UCF and Briles at Baylor. That doesn’t explain the defense though. Venables has to quit trying to institute his system without the talent he had.
