True.

On the other hand, sometimes you know after 1 year, which is why I think if they finish strong, it will help.

I see it as similar to when the Browns had Kitchens. It was pretty clear after 1 season that he wasn't the guy, so they cut him loose.

Initially, it is a bad look. However, winning fixes everything. If they don't think Venables is the guy after 1 season and the next guy comes in and starts winning...no one will care about what happened to Venables.

A worse look for OU, imo, would be to not fire Venables, see Rhule go to Nebraska, ASU or someplace else, start winning and now they're stuck with Venables when they could have had Rhule.

Honestly I’m more worried about this offensive coordinator than anything, no one can be this bad. He looks and acts like he is still at Baylor, UCF or Ole Miss. He is going to figure out quickly he is not. Venables has to straighten this out and he will be given the opportunity. That doesn’t mean that Castiglione isn’t watching the situation closely. Lebby has to go I’m afraid, looks like he was propped up by some people. Kiffen at Ole Miss, Heuple at UCF and Briles at Baylor. That doesn’t explain the defense though. Venables has to quit trying to institute his system without the talent he had.

That was a long time ago.

Might be the truth, but not a viable excuse.

Broncos staff had plenty of time to build an offense that works with their personnel.

Or they were lazy and just said, "Lets have RW run this offense."

And it's not working.

Either way, there just isn't an excuse.

They either chose not to change their system despite bringing in a QB with a different skillset than the 1 they designed it for, or they weren't smart enough to realize they should at least make some tweaks.

Neither is a good look.

Not even comparable. Haslam's team has won a playoff game in his roughly 10 years. Not sure how long Ford family has owned the Lions but no playoff wins since 1991. Before that? Not sure of the year but was in the 50s.

Wasn't comparing the teams at all.

All I said was Haslam's done some stupid/questionable things. You really gonna disagree with that?

My point was when there's problems with ownership it's a problem for the entire franchise.

Yeah, I know Riley took Caleb and Mario with him to USC, but it's not like he left a bare cupboard.

Part of the issue with the defense (at least that I saw) isn't just the scheme. They don't seem to tackle very well. With Venables being a defensive coach, I would think that they'd have that down.

Me too. 3 other qbs left as well but other teams are finding guys that can play. The portal is supppsed to take care of that. It’s the bizzaro world around here, I mean after the Nebraska game even non OU people were saying how good the defense looked.

Anyone watch PTI today?

The video of Draymond hitting Poole was leaked.

Holy shit does it look bad. I'd like to know what Draymond was saying to Poole before Poole pushed him. Then Draymond hit him.

Draymond has a track record in the league, I don’t see him getting the benefit of the doubt.

And going back farther the Kosar Browns were good.....

The Lions are the most inept NFL franchise at the moment.
as frustrating as the Browns have been that franchise is a complete disaster.

The video is really damning. I'd rank Draymond's action right up there with Latrell Sprewell chocking PJ Carlesimo.

The Warriors have a mess on their hands.

Not even close.

Either you don't remember what happened or you're being over the top dramatic.

After threatening to kill him, Spewell choked Carlesimo for 7-10 seconds and didn't stop until assistant coaches and teammates pulled him off.

Then, after showering and changing clothes, he came back to practice and attacked Carlesimo again and punched him before being dragged away again.

and if I had to guess, PJ did not push him first.

That is a ridiculous comparison.

And the video has been out for days.
