Guardians pitching staff is top 10 in baseball despite playing the most doubleheaders in the Major Leagues since 1985.

Really- that is pretty under-rated. All the rainouts, and the youth of the team and they have handled that adversity well. They have had some stretches that would throw any pitching staff for a loop- playing 7-8 games in a week on multiple occasions.

best part is- that this team is only at the beginning of a new window.

....and once that window hits payday, they'll trade 'em off and start over lol.

Dustin May made a solid first start Saturday, going 5 innings allowing 1 hit, 2 BB, 9K, no runs on 71 pitches and getting the win. Hopefully he can be a strong fill-in for Walker.

Gonsolin has really bounced back from that minor cold streak he had and has been pitching great lately.

I gotta say- I am a little surprised. He only pitched 55 innings last year. He is at almost 130 this year. That is quite a jump.

Still- 130 is not a ton of innings- but usually you do not want anymore than 20-25% more than the previous year. He will prob. be around 300%. He is an older guy (when compared to "younger" prospects) I guess.

He's right there with Urias and Anderson for the Dodgers lead for IP. They rarely let any of their starters past the 5th inning this year unless the pitch count is really low. Trying to keep them fresh for the post season.
