There is selling a foul....

and then there is faking.

Two wrongs never make a right, but unfortunately this nonsense has actually become part of the game.
It's reached the point if that if you don't participate in it, you are at a disadvantage.

Anyway, James 2nd foul was definitely a horrible, phantom call which gave the Spurs 2 FT's.
It usually all evens out.

Went to the gym to play some ball last night, I figured out a way the heat can guarantee, GUARANTEE victory.

According to one guy there the problem is "the heat need to play my boy Michael Beasley". "Spoelstra needs to put him on Duncan". "Beasley will shut Duncan down because he is too athletic for Duncan".

I see nothing wrong with that strategy, surely this will work! Right guys?

He couldn't do any worse.
I'm all for it.

agreed. i guess i can't be TOO mad at players doing it, though. i'd be madder at the refs these days for being so gullible...

also i understand star calls in the NBA, but man...

Perhaps they should make a rule as to where if the refs are seeing these exaggerated reactions, they are allowed to look at the replay video.
If it's deemed a flop, give the other team 2 FT's and fine the offender.
That would put an end to it.

It was a bad flop and should get him fined, but definitly not the worst flop EVER. We have seen worse in just this pastr round. But there were also bad calls against that heat that made up for it. But I do hate seeing players flop. it takes the integrity out of the game.

Yeah, I could see nothing wrong with putting Beasley on possibly the greatest PF of all-time.

Shame man if the dude drives you have to put him on the line, but make it painful. Spurs looked like Sallys out there

Problem is with how the game is officiated now. Back when McHale clotheslined Rambis, it was 2 free throws and play on, period.

Now, a hard foul means 2 shots and the ball and if they pull a McHale (or anything remotely close), they get ejected and possibly suspended for the next game.

Great idea. I don't think they'd even need the fine, the 2 free throws would probably be enough to stop it. Or maybe make it a technical foul?

I was surprised Splitter didn't get fined for his exaggeration flop in Game 1

I think if we meet in the middle we have the solution.
Technical Foul + Fine.

I say they need a fine, because if its not a close game, the technical means nothing.

Good point about when it's not a close game. Tech + fine.

If Splitter gets fined, then Lebron gets fined big time for his monster flop last night - I didn't realize he was an expert flopper. That was impressive

Sadly fines mean jack-shit to players and coaches nowadays. It's like if parking tickets were only $1, i'd park my car wherever I damn well wanted to.

Start handing out seven digit fines.

I like turnups idea because the consequence happens in game. I agree that the fines need to be bigger though. A $5000 fine is a joke to a guy who's making a few million a year.

Yep I agree with that too. Give the refs the power to review flops and implement technical foul if proven guilty.

And, this may be pushing it though, give coaches 3 challenges during the game, like they do in the NFL. Somebody mentioned it somewhere the other day and i'm not sure what I think about it.
