Patty Mills' improvement shouldn't be overlooked either...

CL67, I've pointed this out in the initial portions of this thread. There are several factors for both teams that have to be taken into consideration ie. development of certain players, health, etc. The former applies to the Spurs, while the former follows through with the Heat as it relates to Rashard and Wade. Plus, Bosh is actually playing consistent ball, which was not the case last season.

They're definitely not shooting that well in the first half...but the way that they get open looks is no fluke. I said that the series came down to who could help Tony Parker run the offense when they put Lebron on him. Well if Kawhi and Danny green are gonna continue to drive the rim then the heat may have a problem. Pretty sure the Heat will come with a desperate effort Thursday, should be a good game

Patty Mills 2014 is a pretty bigupgrade over Patty Mills 2013
That was a huge thing last year, once Tony Parker got hurt in game 3, the Spurs were helpless.

Patty Mills put down the Dunkin Donuts and lost about 40 pounds.
That fat ass was a waste of space in the 2013 Finals. It is amazing what a trip to the gym can do.

He is a guy who can actually spell Parker for a bit....they did not have that last season.

They have the exact same team they rolled out with last year, just Bellineli swapped for Gary Neal.
Same roster sure but bench contributions are up and guys like Mills are getting a lot more minutes this year as opposed to last year.

They also lost a huge spark off the bench with Gary Neal. But Patty Mills certainly is an upgrade, not denying that. Once again, there are several factors that have changed with both teams since last season.

Miami played shitty defense. The Spurs weren't making crazy contested shots. They were hitting wide open shots. Miami didn't rotate properly, didn't chase players off the perimeter, allowed other players to drive the lanes opening it up for easy layups, or the barrage of aforementioned open 3-point shots.

Sigh. Seriously, do you not read anything anybody writes. This is the same shit that happened last year. We all know the Spurs have a great offense, no one on this board has said that. STOP FEELING INSULTED THAT WE'RE SAYING THE SPURS DON'T HAVE A GOOD OFFENSE.

WHAT WE'RE SAYING IS THAT THE SPURS AREN'T GOING TO SHOOT 76% FOR A HALF. Popovich even stated as much.

Miami's capable of blowing out the Spurs just as much as the Spurs blew Miami out tonight. Spurs blew Miami out one game in the last series, and Miami blew the Spurs out in 2 games. Everyone knew this would be a roller coaster series. This is certainly a low for Miami and the polar opposite for the Spurs.

Just not true, the Spurs are not getting blown out by this team. It's not happening.

They certainly could get blown out by Miami.

These two teams are so good that if one plays out of their minds and the other sleepwalks through a half, a blowout will happen. Miami could just as easily do to San Antonio what the Spurs did to the Heat. Just look at Games 3 and 4 of the WCF for what can happen when the Spurs play poorly.

This series is 2-1. Far from over. San Antonio must still beat Miami two more times to be NBA Champions and doing that will take every thing they have got.

And as far as the criticism of LeBron....

LeBron is the only reason Spurs aren't trying for the sweep Thursday night.

Looking like Cleveland 2.0 for LeBron right now. Miami needs their Kawhi Leonard to step up and, up to this point, nobody has.

Rough game. not much you can do when a team doesn't miss. surprised it ever even got that close.

LeBron is the only reason it wasn't a 35 point game at half time.

I guess I don't get it. In game 1 he couldn't finish the 4th quarter; last night he had 8 points and 7 turnovers in the last 3 quarters.

Miami has the 3rd highest payroll at $80 million. SA is #20 at $63 million.

Bosh, Wade and LBJ are all signed to make $20 million next season. Mike Miller is next at $6.6 million, Haslem $4.6 million. Anderson $1.5 million. Cole $2 million. Hamilton $800k. Their current 2014-15 payroll is $69 million.
Bosh and Wade should take paycuts to get a better supporting cast.

Wade already made comments about how its not up to him to take less, or something along those lines.

Which is BS. Heat can't pay a player who misses 1/3 of the season and averages 18 a game 20 million a year. They can't stay competitive like that. Bosh should be making Ibaka money. thats about 12 mil a year

The Spurs have had 6 Game 3 shooting % during the playoffs. The first half was superb, but overall the Spurs have been doing this in every series.

Spurs-Heat
Game 3pt FG FT
3 45% 59% 81%
2 46% 44% 60%
1 52% 58% 77% almost the same as Game 3 if not better

Spurs-OKC
Game 3pt FG FT
6 31% 40% 74%
5 50% 51% 87% close to the Game 3 numbers
4 33% 40% 77%
3 39% 40% 94%
2 39% 50% 91%
1 53% 58% 77% better than the Game 3 numbers

Spurs-Port
Game 3pt FG FT
5 43% 47% 69%
4 17% 44% 58% worse effort in a loss and the only one in this series
3 33% 48% 100%
2 60% 53% 43% Just about as good as game 3. I was looking for this one Spurs hit a better % of 3pt, than FG, than FT, just weird and a definite fluke.
1 44% 51% 84%

Spurs- Dal
Game 3pt FG FT
7 42% 57% 76% close to Game 3 number, except for the 3 pt%

4 29% 45% 73%
